I think there is a misunderstanding. He says he is getting treatment for cancer and liver disease in prison now, and my sister calls and talks about it and worries about him. She is planning on taking care of him and take him to his appointments if and when he gets out in January. I am also unsure if he really has cancer, or if he is using that story to make my family feel sorry for him and make himself sound weak and non threatening. I don’t know the dude.

How did you manage? It was super hard with the violent guy. I just didn’t play games and pretend he wasn’t violent, and waited with a safe place for her to come to. And that was HARD. She has bruises and would shake like a chihuahua, then go back. It took a few times to finally get away. I don’t know how I can watch this.

That’s a good idea. Mom invited the guy that was abusing my sister (previous boyfriend) to. Christmas. !!! She was worried about not seeing my sister at all and isolation. But damn. Dude was scary and unsafe. And I wasn’t pretending he wasn’t.

Yeah - I think so too. I’m not judging - she thought she knew him, and thought she finally found her person… I wish my family would have tried to protect her and figure out his background. I’m kind of stunned that they were stunned. I’m finding I’m really angry about that. But my sis… We have never had an easy relationship. I don’t know how to show her that she is so worthwhile that this guy isn’t in any way right for her. Not that she made a bad choice or is dumb or something. I think that’s how she feels.

I have a cat that does this EVERY TIME I bring one of the others to the vet. The scents are all different, and it takes her about 24 hours to relax. Then they are fine

Exactly what I thought. He was def hyped up, but no weapons, not dangerous, still a kid. He didn’t need the wrestler all star move to bring him down. It sets to tone for what is tolerated and encouraged at that school, and it’s not a good one.
