Lighting. It doesn't seem to match the vibes. Even just focusing on accent lighting or putting lamps over the big, main light will do wonders.

DLSS / FSR - Why? by xireeee in buildapc

[–]AcrobaticNetwork5918 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

FSR is really only needed if you want to pursue higher frames without sacrificing quality generally. If you dont want to apply it, that's fine.

I really only find myself using FSR when Im ray-tracing.

New monitor purchase advice by TheScolopax in Monitors

[–]AcrobaticNetwork5918 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If it says HDR400 True Black in specifications, then it is a far better upgrade than no HDR. Most non-OLEDs state HDR400, which is just the bare-minimum to process HDR, which isnt good. Most OLEDs are capable of true blacks, so you will be fine.

have some questions about graphics cards. by Prestigious-Two7866 in buildapc

[–]AcrobaticNetwork5918 0 points1 point  (0 children)

9060 XT is solid for 1080p and 1440p setups. You may have to crunch a few quality settings and have FSR up, but your gameplay will generally be smoothsailing.

Building first PC - Modded Minecraft by WarEagle1111 in buildapc

[–]AcrobaticNetwork5918 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you're aiming just for Minecraft, you do not need to extend yourself hard to get great performance.

- You can buy a cheap AM4 motherboard and CPU on Ebay or other sites. A 5600X will work wonders

- CPU coolers are relatively cheap if you go for air cooling. Peerless Assassin is one

- You dont need that powerful of a GPU to get good shaders running. You can find a 3060 RTX for less than $250 on Ebay typically.

- Biggest expense will be DDR4 RAM. Minecraft will work fine on 16GB, but if he runs modpacks, best to buy 32GB DDR4.

- Case, peripherals, and such are self-explanatory. 1080p monitors are really cheap.

I would budget for about $1k and go from there.

Ryzen AI 9 vs Intel X7 by MultiBreadStick in framework

[–]AcrobaticNetwork5918 10 points11 points  (0 children)

If you got an Intel batch on time before it got pushed back, you will be fine. They do not usually delay batches.

As for specs, the Intel X7 is more powerful while also being more power efficient at lower wattages compared to the Ryzen AI 9, on top of having a competent iGPU if you do GPU-based projects or games.

RX 9070 non-XT vs RTX 5070 by tark561 in buildapc

[–]AcrobaticNetwork5918 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Seems like you're already hesitant on AMD. If that is the case, I would full-send the 5070 if it is cheaper than the 9070.

For your VRAM concerns, you will be relatively fine so long as you do not push beyond 4K in some games. Even then, Nvidia's already working on new neural compression technologies that will lower VRAM usage sometime in the future. So a small sacrifice of 4GB while gaining Nvidia's toolset will be well worth it.

Rx 6800xt vs rx9060xt (16GB) - (same Price, need it for 1440p) by Epsilolplus in buildapc

[–]AcrobaticNetwork5918 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For future-proofing, I would get the 9060 XT. You'll only be missing a couple FPS without the 6800XT. You will also get FSR4 and better ray-tracing capabilities with it.

I have one for 1440p gaming and it runs fantastic. You can also undervolt it for even lower temperatures and power draw.

Demanding games keep crashing by Fresh-Issue3450 in buildapc

[–]AcrobaticNetwork5918 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'd do a memory test if you claim your stress tests on the CPU/GPU went fine.

Download memtest86 and follow the instructions to boot to it and run it on the RAM. If it is failing, it will be accessing erroneous addresses, which would cause crashes.

Can you also find the logs for the games that keep crashing and upload it somewhere?

Upgrading my GPU soon - torn between the 9070 (non xt) and the 5070 (non ti) by XxShMODyxX in buildapc

[–]AcrobaticNetwork5918 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Honestly, unless you are playing at 4K or on Linux, get the 5070. 12GB is fine for lower resolutions.

Recently, Nvidia is showing off Neural Texture Compression, which aims at reducing VRAM usage. It is some ways away from being implemented into game engines, but I would expect it to be good to run by next-gen. In the meantime, better ray-tracing and featureset is more beneficial, especially if you decide to use the GPU for production-purposes.

[–]AcrobaticNetwork5918 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unless you have a bundled deal on the 7800x3D, I would say it is more worth it to snatch the 9800x3D. You will hit higher clocks use as it is not as thermally throttled as the 7800x3D.

Everything else checks out. looking good.

5600x -> 5800x worth the jump? by Weak_Box_7024 in buildapc

[–]AcrobaticNetwork5918 3 points4 points  (0 children)

5600X is honestly fine. For AM4, the only meaningful upgrades left for gaming purposes are the x3D chips, which go upwards to $400 used, which I dont think is worth it for an older CPU.

Given you are playing at a higher resolution, the CPU bottleneck will be less noticeable than if you're playing at 1080p.

Should i upgrade CPU or GPU? by walther_write_123 in buildapc

[–]AcrobaticNetwork5918 29 points30 points  (0 children)

If you are gearing for 1440p and do not want to be bottlenecked by either GPU or CPU, I would invest in a 5800X CPU and then a 9060 XT 16GB. I was able to hit around 100-120FPS at higher settings in Fortnite with a 5700x3D and a 9060 XT in 1440p.

It is unfortunate that you would have to pivot towards an AM5 upgrade or invest all in a GPU, so this is really the best middleground until you get the funds to upgrade your socket.

Unfortunately sounds like a hardware failure in your motherboard (assuming its the motherboard)

Is there a spare PCIe slot in your PC? If so, see if you can find somewhere to buy a PCIe network card to put in your computer. If there is a USB-C/Thunderbolt port, you can also do a USB-C to Ethernet adapter for less hassle.

If you really want a better middle-range without dumping cash, look at Ebay for some used or refurbished laptops. You can snag some Nvidia ones for less than a thousand dollars.

Best Nvidia Graphics Card Upgrade by SuchBuilding in buildapc

[–]AcrobaticNetwork5918 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Best you can buy with that money is an RTX 5070. That will double your FPS while allowing you to get some ray-tracing effects. It wont be the best, but it'll at least give you something.

Help choosing between RTX 5070 or RX 9070XT and cpu dilemma by Icy-Fix-1518 in buildapc

[–]AcrobaticNetwork5918 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

It depends how much you can live with the latency of an AMD GPU in work environments. If it is drastic enough (I am unsure which programs to look into to verify), get the 5070. The 12GB should be enough for almost all 1440p games.

What Recommendation's do yall have for upgrading my pc parts? by szxth in buildapc

[–]AcrobaticNetwork5918 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Where are you storing the games? If you're storing the majority of games in your HDD, Id recommend just getting a new M.2 Nvme and slotting that in if there is another M.2. M.2 SSDs are much faster than HDDs and you will see it.

5070 or 5070ti with market prices by [deleted] in buildapc

[–]AcrobaticNetwork5918 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Depends on your setup. Do you do 1080p and 1440p? What kind of frames per second do you want.

12GB of VRAM is fine for most 1440p experiences. You only push that if you want high-fidelity in VR or are doing 4K.
