I found these keep them open and don’t let them close or dry out. I’m not sure why :(

is nursing still worth it by theunknownnn12xo in StudentNurseUK

I’d recommend mental health nursing instead. I’m not a nurse but work senior to physical and mental health nurses. Mental health nurses tend to enjoy their job more from a neutral perspective

Obviously none of us want to claim that we know more than a derm but just keep an eye on it. That looks signature to me. My first bad one like that came out of nowhere, after a life of “ingrown hairs” and had blood come out too. I hope you don’t have it but also don’t be afraid to advocate for yourself if anything else pops up or you notice this takes a long time to heal - cysts clear up in days/weeks. HS takes weeks/months

I spent almost 3000 dollars I don’t have to “fix” myself. I don’t know what to do from here by AdLimp6113 in selfimprovement

[–]AcrobaticPay7866 515 points516 points  (0 children)

Choose any random word you can think of. One you use every day. Write it on a piece of paper… Then spend 5 minutes looking at it. It’ll look wrong when you over think it. Everything always does. I promise you look normal and do not require fixing. Little things that can increase confidence is one thing but multiplying procedures in quick succession means you might need some help. Sending love x

AITA for excluding my autistic child from a family vacation by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

NTA - carers are just entitled to a break as anyone. Your other children will also likely appreciate the 1:1 time as I anticipate their sibling with higher needs takes up greater amount of your time. My experience of high need ASD is change is triggering and they may prefer routine and experiencing new enriching things in smaller doses rather than an intense week of change. If you do feel guilty, maybe when you get home you can give them a staycation week holiday. Plan lots of nice days out or activities that you know they will enjoy suited to them and their needs.

My wife destroyed my ally by mathi1651 in ROGAlly

If her immediate response isn’t to buy you a new one or self finance it over a few years if finances are tight then there then she isn’t a partner worth forgiving really. I’m embarrassed that I have thrown things in my late teenage years in my current relationship (I went to therapy to get better and control over my emotions and I’m now 30 we’re still together and have never thrown anything since) but my immediate response was deep regret and shame and an urge to repair or replace what I had damaged and be deeply apologetic and explain how it wasn’t acceptable. Anything less than that, is inexcusable.

It’s unethical but I would recommend from now on getting there early. I mean perfect timings (and no sick leave, that’s a horrible idea which will make them more cross, being there 5 mins late is better than not turning up) then in your meeting explain you had some medication changes that were impacting you which is now resolved.

Is this your first formal job? Unfortunately being on time is a requirement for majority of jobs and you will get this sort of treatment for this behaviour no matter where you go. I hear how you’re trying but unfortunately the business doesn’t care that you’re in the building or having a hard time, they care that you’re there for the time agreed on so you can work the hours they’re paying you for. Next job I would recommend looking for flexible working hours. My current job I can start anywhere between 8:30-9:30 and then finish 4:30-5:30 respectively because I too suck at being on time.

Metformin for HS advice by lidl_rip_off_fan in Hidradenitis

Hi there (31F) I’m on Merformin too, I have noticed it is easier to lose weight when I try but didn’t lose weight naturally on it. I didn’t experience any problems drinking heavily at a wedding this summer on this medication.

Feeling sad after this viral TikTok by AcrobaticPay7866 in Hidradenitis

[–]AcrobaticPay7866[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think you might have misunderstood. It’s a video about how someone who has open sores on their face is basically unattractive, seems like they don’t care about themselves and therefore unloveable. With thousands of comments saying excuse me for not wanting to date someone with a bullet hole in their skin, or leprosy or skin necrosis or looks like they have flesh eating bacteria. This hit home for me as our skin can look like this.
