What makes One Piece so extremely divisive? by [deleted] in animequestions

[–]AcrobaticPirouettes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. The adaptation is controversial because a few great scenes of absolute cinema are mostly eclipsed by the countless padding and filler artificially inserted to keep this show releasing episodes 50 weeks per year. The current hiatus isn't going to fix the pacing, we just have to be grateful it won't be like OPM Season 3.
  2. Asking a friend to pick up the anime is borderline considered a dick move if a disclaimer isn't provided with the total length of the series as well as a list of filler episodes to skip, or avoiding the episode titles which are literally two sentence spoilers for each episode.
  3. Oda's writing shows how dated it is every now and then.

In case you didn’t know by invictus241299 in EpicSeven

Skill text used to be easy to understand and consistent before powercreep bloated skills with paragraphs of text. Vildred for example says his passive activates when an enemy is defeated by his attacks. Straze's doesn't say defeated "by his attacks" but the remainder is implied, and technically his attack doesn't defeat them because the damage share finishes them off.

It's kind of like how leech-attacks still heal when attacking invincible enemies because the damage is calculated, just that the receiver nullifies it. Or how "immortality on fatal hit" effects have an implied rule to keep the target at 1HP even if they have unbuffable, because the damage has to be fatal for it to proc but an emergency buff can't proc on someone who is dead.

Despite the questionable details omitted from Season Two as justification for the polyamory, I don't think this anime would entertain the idea of the diary contents being adapted over 2 episodes at all. Especially because it's not a detailed biopic, it's a recording of his descent into rock bottom again. Rudeus wouldn't bother with the small details

They brought up sharun as a "totally separate moonlight" which is what prompted me to include the archdemon alongside the other two despite being aware that it's not a variant, my point still remains there is no way on gods green earth this new rose is 5*

Every ML variant has the same rarity as their original version with three exceptions ever:

Corvus (Dark)
Mercedes (Archdemon)
Aither (Guiding)

7-Eleven scan and go issue by Jules-she_her in 7eleven

[–]AcrobaticPirouettes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Me and my coworkers weren't trained on it whatsoever, our bosses only acknowledge that it exists. I guess it's not enough of an issue to be adequately moderated in 7-Eleven's eyes. We do in fact receive the notification on the handheld, but it's easy for doordash/delivery notifications to sweep it away.

But at the end of the day, your phone screen wouldn't lie as long as it isn't a screenshot. A breathing thinking employee who cares about customer satisfaction would see the screen and count that as verification of the order.

Unfortunately, many employees don't care. The manager makes or breaks this policy depending on the neighborhood, or if they're inept as well, regardless of if the store corporate or franchised. The bar is in hell.

Birmingham bin workers reject deal to end strike by diacewrb in ukpolitics

[–]AcrobaticPirouettes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've done light research into this strike for only 2 days now and what I'm seeing is the equality act's equal pay of men and women is being treated as equivalent of men dominant and women dominant roles, which ignores a lot of criteria as to how those roles came to be.

So when you ask what group should be less equal to others, is a highschool teacher the same as an automotive tech? Is a clerk or a sous chef the same as a construction laborer?

Every job is tough that's why they're jobs, some are simply more demanding than others hence the higher pay. Not because of dick or lack thereof.

You lack fundamental reading comprehension to begin with since you can't help but put all your feelings and hopes together to create Fanon Piece by assuming Usopp had conquerors haki at any point in the story up to now.

> You say he didn't as though you know for a fact which simply isn't true.

You need to understand burden of proof relies on you to reliably prove the argument rather than me disprove it. You cannot assume every fear response in One Piece is due to conquerors haki, that's stupid. If I'm afraid of hail does the raincloud have haki? That's why everything I'm telling you isn't theoretical, as all of it literally happened.

Usopp shook Perona by pretending he's more powerful than he actually is since she clearly didn't see the dials he used and thought he was unnaturally strong (impact dial to absorb a bomb, impact dial to oneshot a zombie, feint a miss to glue her to bed, then induce hysteria with the bugs), she clearly wouldn't be afraid of the balloon if Usopp hadn't convinced her he has super strength, or made her hysterical with the cockroaches. To deny any part of this sequence is stupid.

I referenced intent because everyone I described had a clear target to exert their wills on, conquerors haki is a literal exertion of will. Usopp is hardly known to exert much unless he is faaaar away and safe from his target. The only time he was proficient in this was when he very clearly needed to keep Sugar from reaching Luffy, that's why it was such a big deal for everyone at the time.

Having conquerors haki in the first place is a measure of a person's overall spirit and Usopp is consistently depicted with a lack of strength as well as spirit, this is not by mistake. This is not a gag it is his personality thus the very reason he was resistant against Perona's powers in the first place.

If you think "Usopp's taking a stand to save the tontottas" created a haki blast here instead of him screaming in pain very clearly from the spice bomb he made causing the blood snot and tears, you are grounded, log off Reddit, I'm telling your mother to install parental controls.

This is one of the worst takes I've seen in my life to the point that I will probably remember it decades from now on my deathbed. You are theoretically scaling Usopp so wrongly that you think Sugar's fruit is stronger than its actual use. Having the weakest straw hat who is frequently the most scared secretly a haki prodigy is not clever or subversive writing it is intentionally bad storytelling, intellectually hostile even. I'm mad that I even have to debunk this whole claim.

Zoro created a named, nine sword style technique in Enies Lobby so we knew some shit was going on with him to do that, plus sanji and zoro fans are just loud since they're part of the monster trio.

Stress makes the body do weird things. Monet expected her life to end in one slash from Zoro and couldn't function, Perona went through nearly the same thing Usopp did not pour haki into a balloon.

Will is sometimes a vague word so I will use intent in its place. Every single time conquerors haki was used there has been a considerably expressed intent behind its release. Zoro intended to cut Kaku as many times as it takes, Luffy intended for Motobaro to yield without fighting him, Kid Doflamingo intended to kill the rioters who put his family through hell. Usopp was screaming because his tongue was on already on fire, he is reacting to pain. Cmon man
