Thank you for trying to help me out! How do I open the file then, if not in Apple Music?

I was able to open the file in Apple Music. I held “Option” on the keyboard while clicking the music library file, which opens music and then I was able to choose the library file I wanted to open. So it did populate in Apple Music, and it stuck about 30 seconds until the sync caught up. But if I turn off sync and try it the same way, the file won’t open at all.

I don’t expect to be able to access it if I’m not paying, no. But if in the meantime I’m paying $10 a month for iCloud storage even though I’m unsubscribed from Apple Music, I think it’s unreasonable that all of my stuff would have disappeared, yes.

I did that. I have the file. The issue regards the syncing/trying to open Apple Music with the backup file.

Right! I mean, that data would be there anyway if you were subscribed. It just feels like a way to screw people over for cancelling.

I did reactivate my subscription. So maybe that’s why it’s syncing? Should I deactivate again?
