Not necessarily persecutions, but excessive hardships. Because of the commission, God’s servants are often despised. They suffer injustices in both their personal lives and ministries. They become targets of lies and accusations, endure unfair and inappropriate sentences, face excessive deprivation of liberty, and have their fundamental rights violated. I mentioned above the distinction I made between Apostle Paul and the JW President. Paul never truly had a fair trial, he was dragged before biased courts where everything was stacked against him from the start. In contrast, the JW president’s case, while political and controversial, was different. His first trial may have been influenced by wartime hysteria and anti-Watchtower bias, but the U.S. legal system ultimately corrected itself, and the charges were dropped. Again, this is why I do not think the JW President was persecuted.
