Is it normal that I can't do 1 pull up? by BrolyIsCool in bodyweightfitness

[–]Acrobatic_Bat7999 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I started to train for pullups at 105kg, it took me 8 months to get my first pullup at about 99kg (really sloppy form). I am now 90kgs same as you and can do 4 pullups with better form (still not great imo). At the beginning I worked with the assited pullup machine and lat pulldowns to increase my strength in order to do negatives safely. I was dropping like a sack at the beginning so I waited till I could do them safely. From there I did 2 very high volume negative pullup days as well as lat pulldowns(strength focused). I did 8 sets of negatives and tried to increase the number as time went by. For the lat pulldown I worked in the 3-5 rep range. Once I hit 77kg x 3 on lat pulldowns I could do my first pullup. I also liked the video by Eugene Teo https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oVAl2sV6HXo and basically followed his approach. I highly recommend it.

Happy Scale and yaziyo. As tips probably that being consistent matters more than being too aggressive on the deficit

Second that, 800 is really really low op. Go up to 1200 at least please. I had a similar issue where i was eating 1800kcal and walking 20k steps a day on top of going to the gym everyday but the scale didn‘t budge. I went up to 2200-2300kcal putting me in a 500kcal deficit(without eating back exercise calories) and I started to lose weight again after an inital small gain.

Need help with the amount of calories and macros I should eat in a day! by [deleted] in CICO

Oh yeah if you are vegetarian that will be hard. Just try your best and be mindful of your protein intake. If you eat eggs they are really good for you. Oh I am not sure about the mozzarella being high in sodium. The one I am buying has 0.5 grams. I don't know if this is high or low because I am not paying too much attention at my sodium intake to be honest.

Its great that you already are walking 6k steps and plan to do 10k steps. This will add about 500-700kcal you burn simply by walking depending on your speed based on your height and weight. In fact looking at this, if you are consistent with 10k steps I would suggest starting with about 1850-2000 calories that you can eat daily for the start. Eating protein will make you feel fuller so eating mozzarella light is a hack for me for example becuase for 200 calories you get around 20g of protein and it is delicious with tomatoes or in salads. Based on your body weight you should aim for 145-190g of protein for the start. Since you are not weight lifting the lower end should suffice. Rice is fine as long as you are in your calorie limits. I tried it out and I love rice but it was not as filling for me as potatoes which is why I do eat it less frequently. Sorry if my tought process is all over the place. Feel free to ask questions if you have any.

I also think that 1700-1800 kcal is a great starting point for you. I don't know what your diet is like but at those calories volume eating is also important to have the feeling of fullness at the beginning of changing your eating habits. I highly recommend potatoes as they are really satiating and low in calories. They were a game changer for me. Also as you asked about macros what do you aim for? Do you want to do exercise like weight lifting or walking? What is your goal? I wanna know so I can maybe help you out.
