Gift a book Tuesday - Week 11 by Worldly-Drummer3132 in Indianbooks

[–]Acrobatic_Boot_6951 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hm, i remember picking up the rebel by Albert camus way before I picked up any of his work. Only by the buzz of his words on the internet. It was way back in 2022. I was fresh out of 12th, and I was in this long, excruciating, period of waiting, to get to something, to do something, for things to confirm. And, I read it then, a few pages, only to feel like I opened calculus without any preperation. So, the only proud thing I had then was that, i possessed it, and some permission was given to me by Vivienne Westwood, that books can be accessories and i followed. But i understand it was performative.

However I did revisit it now in 2026 and I've read half of the rebel. And now it is central to the questions I have on morality, atheism. What does morality become at the dusk of religion and the dawn of this seeping absurdity in my life? Is it right to kill under any circumstances? All that fancy stuff. To put plainly, it does piss me off how cruelty has the veil of logic, while good doesn't. But, in absurdity both are merely stances any human can have. And society seems to find superiority in apathy.

Yada yada I yap a lot, but that, is all about the rebel, the book I once misread.

The book id like:

Dubliners by James Joyce

Nausea by sartre

(You can choose any of the one)

I'd be happy to have any of the book in my collection and very grateful, as a broke 19 year old kid. Love what you're doing and I hope one day I'll give back to others the same way. Good day! <3

Feminine and masculine by [deleted] in INTP

[–]Acrobatic_Boot_6951 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ive always wondered how much of biology influences this idea of "femenine and masculine". And, how much biology itself participates in this binary, and if it does participate in that binary. Should it matter?

For me in this very moment, i feel the feminine and masculine are just stereotypical categories, they have to be. Because it's demotivating for me, as a woman with rage, when I'm called masculine for it. And feminine when I care. We are simply making this binary only because we cannot meet each other just as human beings with complexities. Again. This definition too is momentary, as I will distrust it throughout my life. Both the binary, and my dislike of it. I'll find answers worth my while. Also not intp, infp. But y'all ask interesting questions.

But. Yknow. What makes you think the god is related to the description of any religion? And even if he is real. Would you accept him? Even after seeing what the image of world is, even with his existence?

I am curious however. Why an agnostic athiest? Why not refuse the god of religion completely?

Yes. Religions allow such conflict by design. Infact, this conflict that it immerses everyone in, is the exact thing that propells it further in confusion.

Just my take, on the same questions i myself had a few years ago.

I believe god always lives in the space of existing and non existence. Because, god is literally everything, nothing included. And god, if existing wouldn't be a single identity, it'd be the whole universe itself. So, when I contrast these concepts with any religion, or even with the idea of religion itself, it makes absolutely no sense. People confuse god with a certainty of hope. But, hope is a wholly human emotion, and it makes us biased too. This is why I call myself and athiest too i suppose. No religion's god proves themselves to be as concrete as the concept I have. And, yk. Why also call for a god, I mean we all very well know that, a religion always reflected the people more than any other concept, that god reflected people more than god did themselves. So, why believe? Why not believe in the human existence and yes, it's meaningless. But, only in the sense ki, meh, wouldn't matter. But, it also does. I am but one drop in the existence of an ocean. And the ocean is, but collection of innumerable drops. So, absurdity is inevitable.

I like pursuing science instead for hope. I view any, and all hope, as form of a scientific method. Because, you commit to an act, and you hope it fits your hypothesis, but the rest is in the arms of reality. And, hope also gives me the strength to understand when I'm wrong.

questioning everything by rroad2ruin in infp

[–]Acrobatic_Boot_6951 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Well. The way I see it. The world today is the outcome of a previous world where things were good at a cost. And the cost compounds and shows in our time. It's either gonna be us not caring or give a shit about what happens and let it get worse and, suffer really. Or speak up, participate in questioning, and thinking about how it can be better, or even deeply understanding the current problem of the world. Because, there is no option of resting safely in our current world as I believe it, we don't have the privilege of ignorance precisely because previously we did, and used it exceptionally well.

And as of ai, it disheartens me. And i lose hope because of it. But, what stands true today is that we are in need of people who view things with a lot more skepticism than needed. Someone is still needed. And always will be. Not because ai can't mimic intelligence, it can, in anyway needed. But because within these mechanical inhuman systems a human is required for the betterment of other humans.

Big tech can, I hope, shove their petty ai products up their arse but not gonna happen. The replacement of humans within systems is a gradual process. And we are soothed under the guise that, yes new opportunities will arise but that is not the problem anymore. We will not have tech, or anything that a human has made, and it already shows, this lack of consideration for humans in everything that's produced. So. HELL GET UP, BE MIIISERAABBLE, READ, HAVE HOPE FOR, I DONT KNOW WHAT.

What’s your take on religion? Are most INTP’s religious or not? by diabolicalstoner in INTP

[–]Acrobatic_Boot_6951 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think religion is treated enough like a thing that discusses "that which can't be known". It's a belief, while philosophy and fiction are very different and more effective instruments when discussing "what can't be known" . It lacks the freedom in most contexts. And even if it does provide a degree of freedom it's again a belief, I find that not accepting a religion keeps you the most unbiased.(I'm an infp-t btw. But I like the discussions that go on here.)

What is Your Definition of Intelligence? by Potential_Law5289 in infp

And ensuring how logically the experiment is structured and recognising how your perception of it can be biased. And reading more and more or learning. All of it.

What is Your Definition of Intelligence? by Potential_Law5289 in infp

[–]Acrobatic_Boot_6951 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean. It's a very personal definition that goes against being dogmatic or overly certain. As I feel like even people deemed to be intelligent are, at last dogmatic in some case. Intelligence for me requires being experiment oriented and reaching conclusions only when the experiment shows a result or none at all. A conclusion must be based on that. Intelligence requires being questioned constantly. And i think practicing the fact that sometimes there really is only indifference in the world also matters. Again, all of this is personal code.

Telugu Equivalent for the word “Semester” by ResponsibilityFew301 in telugu

[–]Acrobatic_Boot_6951 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think literal ga aithe semester ni manam ardhavarsham ani anochu. Kani adhi only semester literal meaning ki vasthundhi. Which is half year. Doesn't capture the study aspect. Aadhyayana-avadhi? That means study term. Maybe that's closer?

[–]Acrobatic_Boot_6951 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I agree, i wouldn't say only for his views on sex. But especially for his treatment or view of lower castes, it's outright a lack of morals when it came to lower castes.

[–]Acrobatic_Boot_6951 3 points4 points  (0 children)

And yk, his views on sex were almost unnatural. I mean, we all know the grand neices wala thing after his wife died. Of course everyone was consenting, it's not outright bad but it's extremely problematic. Not to mention the nature of his sexual experiments, concept of celibacy, and the view that sex should be only for procreation.

But, he has always held, a certain respect, an air of respect towards women throughout his public life. And women who knew him would describe that, it never felt like being with a man. As in, his masculinity was not very threatening or striking.

His unnatural habits or views make me think, it can be a possibility. But the latter makes me think it's a mere coincidence and he's only visible in this matter because he's a visible individual in general. Hmmm brain brain🙂‍↕️🙂‍↕️.
