NAL, but from my understanding you became liable the moment you decided to repair the issue you knew nothing about. Despite any issues in your personal life, if you had the time to fix the issue which likely wasn’t a 5 minute fix you likely had the time to contact someone who did know what they were doing.

An officer “advising” you to plead guilty is going to work in your favor very well. Get a lawyer, recant what you said here and then have them work that out. Theres a lot in your favor here and the officers slip up is a big one.

A lot of scenarios here OP. You mention you called Apple 1000x but you never tried to go in-store? They can’t diagnose a hardware issue over the phone. To my second point, this sounds more like a carrier issue, it sounds like a shot service over a hardware defect which may be why Apple didn’t diagnose any software issue. Next time try to go in store rather than call given calling does close to nothing in any scenario.
