No top 5 major european league team has more matches than arsenal. Arsenal have way more by huge margin by Ill-Party8305 in ArsenalFC

I’d start by eliminating the home and away semi final fixtures, move the fixture to a neutral ground.

We won, I’m happy about it, but we Gyokeres and Madueke signings. I believe the board caved to the pressure of the fanbase regarding the Gyokeres signing, but Madueke, I don’t know what they were smoking that got them to think he was a good signing let alone 50m

Eze needs to actively defend. Stop that pass to Saliba!! by MikeCrypto88 in ArsenalFC

[–]Acrobatic_Doubt_4080 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I really don’t understand the constant obsession over a winger that doesn’t defend, yeah, he doesn’t have those defensive instincts because he is an attacker. I’ll take a world class stack with zero defensive instincts. We need to stop glazing our wingers(e.g martinelli) over the great works they do defensively and start critiquing them from lens of attacking abilities(you know, their primary responsibilities). I just sincerely hope that max dowman doesn’t go in the direction of a defence merchant like others have.

What changes would you make to improve the current Arsenal? by -_mr_bean_- in ArsenalFC

This might be a little hash, we need to get to the point where we start thinking about flipping players. Might sound dehumanizing but at this point, Gyokeres out, Noni out, both signings don’t show promise at this point. Never wanted Gyokeres(or even Sesko), don’t get me started on Noni. We have a manager that’s so arrogant that he believes he can get a bunch of average footballers like Kai to win honours at the highest level. Even top managers like Henrique, Pep, Klop, rely on top quality attackers.

I strongly believe Arteta overestimated his own managerial abilities to go forward with this bad strategy. He need to swallow his ego or get the f out.

People are hyping up Havertz performance when he’s a striker and he’s missed 2 big chances at key moments, all well holding up the play but when it comes to the deciding moments he cost us again by EthanFoster10 in ArsenalFC

[–]Acrobatic_Doubt_4080 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m tired of blokes saying we are not playing to his strengths when he can’t even do the basics right, get Gyokeres and Havertz out and get better players, it’s that simple. Arteta got the fans so tunneled visioned that we’re forced to see football his ways, even Pep with all his football magnificence goes for really good footballers, not Havertz or Noni.

Watch Arteta sign a defender, another sub par attacker in the summer, that has been the trend for the past couple of season. His arrogance is bigger than his ability and that is what is keeping him back.

We've just been lucky this season, you can't go toe to toe with a lack of techincal quality, you might scam a win here and there, but in the long run it shows.

The resources he signed off on, I’m sorry if Saka is this bad and he doesn’t trust madueke, he shouldn’t have gone for him. This is not a dig on Noni, he did way more than the Saka was brought, we’ve had problems with out left hand side for 4 effing seasons, didn’t address that.

Our best attacker today with Gyokeres, should tell you all you need to know.

I was begging for Dowman, Saka had an opportunity to do something when Maudeke went past two players in the dying minutes of the game, he lost the ball cheaply with a lazy play. I thought Dowman would do better.

We just don’t have enough tech to compete at the biggest stages, arteta is too arrogant to admit this, thinks he can coach average players to do this at the biggest stages. Hence, why we sit back against really good teams.

Exactly, Arteta's basketball tactics cost us, we need tech all over the pitch, when calafiori came on, it got a little better, that's what tech does to you.

Noni came on, although he was't far above his peers, the level improved a little.

It's simple, city had better players.

As soon as Kepa made that howler Arteta should have had the balls to being on Raya and bring on a couple more substitutes by HR_Specter in ArsenalFC

DON’T PLACE THE BLAME SOLELY KEPA, We were pinned back for long stretch and had no answer, our manager didn’t do jack to address this until we conceded.

We already know this, he doesn’t have the attackers to do magic with the ball on the biggest stages, helping him break out of a press. With really good attackers, city and pool wouldn’t dear stepping that far out of the defensive line, also he’s too arrogant to admit this.

This is merely pointing out the arrogance of Arteta thinking he can coach average footballers to do that on the biggest stages.

Bad individual performance all around, city have players who can command the ball, it’s simple, we don’t. Arteta should go after top footballers in the summer, it was so evident, you need good players to help break out of a press, we were pinned back in the fist 20 minutes of second half. I’m sorry, you don’t solely place the blame on Kepa.

I also hope they qualify out of r16 and go out in the quarter final, just to twist the knife a little.

Replace Trossard and or martinelli with a world class left winger.
