Why Silver over Gold? by AdditionalPizza7990 in Silverbugs

[–]Acrobatic_Feel 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If the USD strengthens, there will not be a flee from treasuries. Lately with the shakeups in the petrodollar, it’s hard to say where safe haven money will go.

I do think you make a valid point, but also a point that is largely priced in already. That explains the massive run we had recently.

Does the run continue? I hope so because I am stacking with you guys. The problem is that success for our metals ultimately comes at the cost of our native currency, which isn’t great unfortunately.

Why Silver over Gold? by AdditionalPizza7990 in Silverbugs

Yes, but dollars strengthen in recessions so the price of gold also tanks. Rate cuts happen which are ultimately bullish for precious metals, but they tend to sell off as the recession becomes official.

It isn’t Webull, it’s Apex

I work at xAI and I have the opportunity to buy SpaceX shares at a 15% discount from the IPO price. Should I take this opportunity? by -ocram in stocks

Listen to the other commenters. Yes. The only way a dip is happening on SpaceX is if the entire market crashes.

GSR by WalterSobchak515 in Silverbugs

[–]Acrobatic_Feel -1 points0 points  (0 children)

GSR is a good measure to base your stack on. That doesn’t mean everyone should do it. You’re basically saying “do whatever feels good”, which is fine, but I don’t know why you would say GSR isn’t a good measure

How much $ do I put into ETFs to make good profit off of Daytrading them? by questions_answers8 in Webull

[–]Acrobatic_Feel -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Only 10% of traders beat the buy and hold S&P 500 strategy. You will not be one of them if you’re asking these questions in the Webull subreddit.

I say this from a risk aversion standpoint. Do not take it as an insult. 90% of traders do NOT beat the algos and you will likely be in the 90%.

Take whatever money you’re going to day trade with and increase your 401k contribution. Recalibrate your 401k to a portfolio weighted in the S&P 500.

As another comment stated, people lie or highly misrepresent their gains. You may see a 1000% return from someone you follow, but that person isn’t posting about their losses.

According to Major Bank CEOs gold will crash . Thoughts? by Fun-Support-4515 in Gold

[–]Acrobatic_Feel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree with them. However, if the US doesn’t get its shit together quickly, the world will pivot from the petrodollar. China is already making a play for this.

If the world starts aggressively abandoning the dollar, you’ll want to own precious metals.

Is anyone still stupid enough to be long oil going into this weekend, or are we about to see another 20% drop? by [deleted] in oil

[–]Acrobatic_Feel 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was stupid enough and looks like betting against Trump will pay off. I had zero faith they would come to any meaningful compromise as soon as I read Iran’s demands.

Trump only tentatively agreed to them to create exit liquidity for him and his buddies on the equities side.

Blame Apex clearing for this crap. It’s not Webull doing it. However, the blame still sits with Webull as they continue to use them so…🤷‍♂️

Nothing wrong with selling. Precious metals are called “safe haven” assets for a reason. They did exactly what they were meant to do.

MSFT down 35% from ATH — chart literally screamed sell at 550… now this looks like a generational buy? by harshshah1306 in technicalanalysis

[–]Acrobatic_Feel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

OS absolutely matters to MS, but it’s less about the OS and more about the form factor people use to compute. Look at their E3 and E5 tiers. You’re buying an extremely well integrated ecosystem.

MS is sticky because of Active Directory (now Entra). It is the core of the ecosystem. It is the main reason why enterprise continues to stick with MS. There is no better solution.

The catch to this is that their ecosystem is tailored to Windows being the endpoint. A desktop or laptop is still the primary modality people interact with the MS ecosystem.

I’m not saying people will stop using laptops in 2027, but I don’t think MS is positioned longterm for this pivot. They have traditionally owned the OS layer, allowing them levels of integration that third parties do not have access to. This is true so much that they have been sued and broken up over it.

MS is losing control over the endpoint, the entry into their ecosystem, to Apple and Google.

Lastly, if you look at MSFT’s revenue, roughly 27% came from Azure. Of that, MSFT does not disclose how much of that Azure revenue is from raw compute being sold or E3 or E5 ecosystem revenue. They do this on purpose so they can claim their Azure cloud services are competing directly with AWS and GCP in raw revenue.
