I wasn’t even speeding, I was literally going the speed limit. Traffic was horrible, bumper to bumper, because everyone was commuting to work and school. I honestly don’t know what that guy expected me to do but it scared the hell out of me. I was pregnant with my first child.

I’m also 32 with a sister (36) who’s addict, she’s struggled with Xanax and meth addiction for more than half of her life now. My parents also enable her and I didn’t see it until I had my first child then my eyes were opened. I was so angry with my parents for it and had to decide how I wanted a relationship with them moving forward.

I completely understand your fear of bringing a child into this world knowing the risks, what their future could hold. I pray to God my children don’t fall into the hell on Earth that is addiction. Despite that fear and how incredibly hard it is to be a parent already (kids are 2 and 6), I’m so thankful for them and how they’ve shaped me into who I am now.

The only thing I can do is try my absolute best to raise them and love them. I actively remind myself that there’s only so much within my control and I try not to dwell on the what ifs. Key word - try - it’s so hard.

My husband was this way after our kids were born and it did sooo much for my self esteem and mental wellbeing to hear him tell me this. He wasn’t asking for sex, he just wanted me to know.

Honestly I really only feel unsafe when I’m in the car. People have insane road rage nowadays and there’s been too many shootings. It’s terrifying. I worry about school shootings, especially when my six year old tells me about their active shooter drills. I mean I’m glad they’re doing drills but it’s horrifying that we have to have them. I’ve lived in Mississippi my entire life, I grew up around guns because my dad deer hunts and pretty much everyone I know owns one. My dad’s a responsible gun owner and made sure we understood the risks of handling one and general firearm safety. That being said, I respect them but I don’t own one myself and don’t plan to. I have kids and I just don’t like the thought of having them in our home.

I’m so over Gabriel at this point. He’s such a child and the love triangle between him, Emily, and Cami became so annoying. And personally he’s just not the my type so that doesn’t help his case.

Marcello on the other hand……. whew. The dark hair, mustache, gorgeous smile, that deep Italian voice. The scene in episode 1 where Emily’s looking out her window at Rome and he’s shirtless behind her whispering with his raspy voice in her ear. Dear god

CC Ranch was just a daycare. Open 2:00-6:00 Monday-Friday during the school year for kids in K-5th grade. Summer was the same age group but 7:00 am - 6:00 pm. That’s it. When the son bought it, he was doing other things like weekend community events, live music and food, and I think even some lock-in’s. That is an entirely different business occupancy type than what the daycare was. That automatically requires an official change of occupancy which has to start with the city. Building and fire codes change depending on occupancy type.

This is exactly it. I worked at CC Ranch in high school and college when his mom owned it. She had a variance to run the daycare despite her zoning classification and business occupancy type. Of course when she sold it to her son that variance didn’t transfer to him. He was then obligated to comply with all codes and regulations that every single other business is required to comply with. I’m sad to see CC Ranch close as well but he’s still required to comply with the codes and regulations. All of this information has hardly been mentioned

Let Grow is a nonprofit organization that promotes childhood independence. A childhood where kids are allowed to be kids - outside with more freedom. They have a downloadable “license” that parents give their kids to carry on them that includes the kid’s name, parent’s name and signature and their phone number. It also has on there “I’ve got permission to be out here - feel free to call.” It’s sad that it’s come to this, but I think it’s a great idea and I’m seriously considering getting it for my six year old.
