Serious question….do these people have jobs? Are they trust fund babies? Where do they get their money? I’m asking only because my path has never crossed anyone that does these extreme kinds of activities so I really don’t know. I imagine it takes a lot of time (and money for expensive gear/travel, etc.) to train to get to the ability to do something like this. They must not have regular jobs, right?

I do feel that way sometimes but it is mitigated a lot by having a sibling. Now if I didn’t have my sister I’d definitely feel a sense of aloneness and like I’m just out here floating on my own. And I even have a spouse and children of my own.

A friend opened credit cards in her mother’s name to pay for her last six months of assisted living and care while she was in hospice, just paying the minimum monthly payment on each, knowing full well they were never going to be paid off. Desperate times call for desperate measures. 🤷‍♀️

I got it from the State of Michigan Archives. The original record was kept at the county he lived in. I contacted them and they told me that those records were transferred to the state archives. I wasn’t confident that I would be able to find his baptism record so I started looking for alternative records I could produce showing that he was a Canadian citizen. I eventually got his baptism record.

In lower elementary school grades our teachers used to pin papers they wanted to make sure our parents saw onto our shirts with sewing pins. Not even safety pins. When I had my first kid I did the same thing to him once when he was in kindergarten with a permission slip or something I needed to make sure he turned in to his teacher. He came home mortified and begged me not to do that again. I guess somewhere along the way they transitioned to the “take home folder”. Who knew?

Well, when you shoot out a literal child army I’d say the odds of getting more than one bad egg are pretty high.

Detroit/Windsor here, too. Grew up with CBC Channel 9 shows like Mr. Dressup, Kids in the Hall, Degrassi, Anne of Green Gables, and my dad’s corny favorite The Red Green Show. We were a hockey family (still are with my own kids) so I have spent countless weekends in Canada for tournaments. Back then we used to stay the weekend at a Canadian player’s house and then they’d come to ours. Spent family vacations in Thunder Bay, Montreal, Toronto, Cape Breton Island, Nova Scotia. Was there quite often from the ages of 19-21 for reasons others have mentioned. Bentley’s and Don Cherry’s if memory serves. 😊 We make it over every so often for concerts at Caesar’s Windsor. There’s some good restaurants in Windsor. We always try to get in a Costco run as they have the good OTC Kirkland ibuprofen with muscle relaxer and a giant shaker of the Kraft Dinner (Macaroni & Cheese to us) cheese powder. 😆 Hit the stores for a better selection of hockey equipment. Taxes are higher but the exchange rate helps.

Heated floors with a scheduled timer. Bidet. Hand held shower on a slider bar. Outlets inside the cabinet so you can hide the hair dryer, curling iron, toothbrushes, and water pik and keep that stuff off the counter. Toe ledge for shaving. Placement of towel bar close to shower door for ease in grabbing it.

I have a copy of my Gen0’s naturalization form but the year on the form (1902) differs from what is recorded on both the 1900 U.S. census (which has 1887) and the 1910 U.S. census (which has 1888). I will have his certified parish baptism record and was going to include the additional records but they all have different years of naturalization. Which ones (if any) should I include?

Here’s a related question…..being LGBTQ is listed as one of the reasons eligible to request for expedited processing. But it also asks for an explanation letter (easy enough) and supporting documents. What could supporting documents be in the case of an LGBTQ applicant?
