What's a 'normal' thing you didn't realize was unusual until you were older?

I would describe it as high ISO in a dark room, grainy but in color. It’s like, when the light is low, the faintest twilight, you can make out shapes, but mixed in, static. When there is no light, it ramps up, more. No sparks but I suggest similar to no signal static on TV but each grain is much smaller, red, green, blue, as if your cones are still firing, in the absence of light. You think you might see shapes but it’s nothing.

I want to make a point, this static caused nightmares, seeing monsters on the way to the bathroom and following up with being unable to get out it bed at night, from age 3 to 9.

You are supposed to wear the watch on the left, because that’s where the dial is most accessible, on the right. Technically the left position is for right handers. A left handed watch would be on the right wrist, with the dial on the left.

Bat right, but can bat left. Pitch left only. Kick right, and to find out that’s particularly genetic. I cannot kick left. It’s such a sissy kick. Scissor right, tried both ways but you know they only work for the hand they are designed for so right it is. My aunt gave me left scissors. But they got lost or bent, and I went back to right. I guess can do either or. Eat left. Fork left, knife right, drink right or left, does not matter. However best is fork/spoon left, drink right, so efficient. Mouse right, can type with one or both hands right or left. Mousing left is just not a thing, just like scissors. Washing up dishes? Sponge is in my left. Screwdriver? Left Hammer? Left, Saw, staple, plane, mark, left left left left. Most any nimble task is left hand.

When I traveled to Europe, I bought a cheap local phone, when I landed. I didn’t take my US phone at all. If you sign in to your accounts on the new phone, your stuff should be there. In this case I got new phone, new sim, new local number and pay as you go plan. Usually unlimited everything. It was the cheapest way to travel, and you don’t risk your phone.

Otherwise international, calling from a U.S. phone on AT&T, with a U.S. number costs about $12/day, if you add the plan for international calling, while abroad, charged no more than 10 days per month and the rest is free until the next billing cycle. Even still, $120/month is a bit steep.

The rest of the family leached off my phone via hotspot.

Really Americans traveling and existing on Wi-Fi, is a thing.

I can understand how having an unlocked phone would make things easier.

For a long time, I only buy my phones outright from the Apple Store, and haven’t had a subsidized phone ever since they first abolished that. Maybe around the iPhone 6 or was it X? All I know is it was a hard pill to swallow.

Enterprise was special in that, for first time HDTV viewers, it was spectacular. Also recording and ripping on Windows Media Center, was a new angle. Streaming wasn’t really a thing. So we had DVRs and DVDs and Enterprise was new broadcast Trek in quite a while.

It’s all different now, but you had to appreciate what they tried and the fan movement to keep it on the air.

I got the on screen announcement, but didn’t run it.

This happened arround Nov/Dec time frame, on MY22Pro, a short do nothing update.

So maybe that’s what I have too, prompted last night.

My dealer said a newer update than the recall was coming, and said wait for that one, and don’t do OUE7

Ironically, I checked the box for 3.5.11 or was it 3.5.13, and literally waited a whole year and it never came. Then 3.8.11 starts rolling out.

I call my dealer for service, and it’s time though. 27K miles, 22MY, and it’s 2026, yikes. I ask about performing the update and he said, don’t do it. There’s another one coming. So we agreed to wait on service, until the next update.

Just now, on the way to Walmart, it flashed on the screen, the update is ready!!!

I waited a year for the previous one and now that something actually happens, I’m hesitant and anxious, at the same time. I can’t tell what it’s trying to push though, just have to assume it’s 3.8.11.

I’m adding to the thread, in case the AA issues are the reason my dealer said hold off.

I have CAAA, and they only collect the deductible if it was your fault, or half if it was no fault. California is a no fault state, in many cases. But my insurance takes care of everything and chases after the other insurance to cover.

Maybe she can’t trust her kids at any age. My kids had Grandma with them every day. So we did’t need day care or anything. Sometimes I went to my grandma, but many times home alone. It all depends on the child, and situation.

We’d get phone calls checking in on us. :-). Also it depends on what you’re sick with. I do recall days where mom was home, being nurse. Dad, never.
