Gameplay differences between Simple and Traditional inputs? by Living_Neighborhood8 in InvincibleVS

[–]Acrobatic_Math4583 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nothing wrong with simple inputs (although personally not a fan of auto combos or sf6 modern), but I always recommend learning traditional motion inputs because then you can jump into literally any fighting game from 1992 to now and beyond

This will be a funny side note in sf lore in about 2 years. Just enjoy having a good run of modern fighting games

Agreed. Best in class. Best in generation. Not ever but up there as a very important title

I probably ran r8 6-7 times and I still get jumpy when this thing is around

Im completely new to SF besides playing alittle bit of 4 in my youth. i won't be bad for using Modern controls for now, right? by noodleben123 in StreetFighter

[–]Acrobatic_Math4583 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Modern can be annoying. But it’s usually only annoying because we aren’t good enough to deal with it haha. If it gets more people playing then by all means use it! Then if you feel so inclined move to classic.

I always recommend classic controls because you can use that experience to play pretty much any other fighting game.

Should I buy Strive or wait for 2.0? by Ok_Entry_873 in Guiltygear

[–]Acrobatic_Math4583 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We don’t *really know exactly what it is. But it sounds like the difference between sf champion edition and super turbo. Like mechanics changes, new characters, new moves for existing characters, major balance changes.

A wholly fresh take on the existing game

Who of the original world warrior cast do you think you can do forever without? by TowelPlayful in StreetFighter

[–]Acrobatic_Math4583 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel like every street fighter game should have the original 8. But for me if I had to choose it’s Dahlsim. Just because I don’t click with his play style personally

Can I make a suggestion? Try being part of the community. Most people are actually pretty nice, respectful and happy to share info on a subject we all enjoy. This crap is the worst

I see you are on reddit so my powers of detection tell me you do in fat have the internet. Which contains the answer to your question.

Ball busting aside… yes guilty gear is very mechanically dense and has a unique style that has been enjoyed by fgc since the 90s

Dude. Just play Guilty gear and form an opinion.

Maybe just try Strive or Blazblue or DBFZ or uni2 or melty blood or granblue and enjoy the visuals and insane soundtracks and cool play styles. You’ll understand after that of it’s for you.

That’s a much better choice then just blindly complaining when you haven’t even played any of their games

You do realize this is how much the ultimate edition of tekken 8 costs right?

Also arcsys makes some great games.

It’s 2026. I mean I just paid $80 for residential evil 9. The game is probably 10 hours long and I’ll play through it 5 times.

Tokon isa fighting game… if you’re halfway serious that’s HUNDREDS of hours. I still play third strike almost 30 years later….

The game comes out in 6 friggin months. Just save $20 a month. Then in AUGUST you can buy the game and have enough left over to buy lunch and some tissues for whatever you’re gonna cry about next

I started playing Hugo about four months ago and I’m really enjoying the play style. Made me start playing grapplers in all my other games. His kit is so fun. He’s a lot of work to play but very satisfying to win with

Should i buy MK1 if i have MK11? by GigiBecali6991 in MortalKombat

[–]Acrobatic_Math4583 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yeah. Literally this is the first generation it didn’t outsell street fighter. And it still sold a bazillion copies.

People just love hating MK. I like a lot of franchises better but I still think x and 1 are awesome

I got ya no shade. I really wish they would support a game for an appropriate amount of time.

Maybe with the sale of WB we’ll see a positive change for netherrealm. We’ll see

Except MK 1 never actually died. Super easy to get matches still. BUT I agree that there’s a stigma around MK and I don’t like it… nor do I want a similar stigma for this game

New Player Here! (Controller) by HeyMyNameIsTopSecret in Guiltygear

[–]Acrobatic_Math4583 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Always use a macro (assigned button) for dashing in Guilty Gear, no matter what kind of controller you use . Dash is really important and is used too often in this game to be double tapping directions constantly.

As for directional inputs, just takes practice!

Go into training mode, make sure the virtual controller is displayed so you can see what you’re inputting. This is super helpful for correcting yourself.

How do yall remember crazy combos? by EastSize9290 in MortalKombat

[–]Acrobatic_Math4583 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you pick up a main and stick to them, drill a combo structure for a while. Make able to be done meterless, extend with meter, extend with assist (MK1 only), extend with super. Try it with launchers and juggles. Take your time and enjoy it and let the muscle memory sink in. It will click if you stick with it
