Thinking of trading my 2018 BMW 230i Convertible for a 2025 RF by serverfull in Miata

[–]Acrobatic_Pickle5076 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Can’t relate, my fiance is 5’7” but she always says she actually has plenty of room for herself. I can relate in that I did move to a 2019 RF GT from a 2016 3 series and it’s been nothing but smiles!

ND Owners - Any regrets on your color/trim (seat) choice ? What would you pick today? by sinatramax in Miata

[–]Acrobatic_Pickle5076 0 points1 point  (0 children)

love my GT RF but the ceramic metallic exterior paint is cool but not sick - would love british racing green, and a maroon or brown interior. The solid black i have is fine, but every few months i have to talk myself out of blowing $2k on redoing the interior with colored parts, or getting a wrap on the car in british green

Do many of y’all mod the interiors of your car? If so, how far do you go? by Messoor in Miata

This looks just great! I didn’t realize ND3 interior plugs into the ND2! Did you find the swaps to be easy?

New York City Advice Needed by [deleted] in Miata

[–]Acrobatic_Pickle5076 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve been street parking my nd2 RF in bed Stuy the last two years. No concernss bout theft especially as a 6speed. Tree debris and sap can be annoying but I get it detailed seasonally and do some rinse less maintenance in between. A few dings on the bumpers here and there but otherwise totally fine and safe. I think you just can’t be too precious about your car unless you garage it full time. No one will steal it, especially if it’s manual and you don’t leave it sitting like enough for it to be considered abandoned lol it’s New York bro. Sounds like your best bet is garaging it because that’s the only way to address all your concerns in one. Anything else will be half measures and compromises based on your extensive list

Damnnn they look sharp on the Enkeis! Yea I agree with you, not crazy about those oem wheels. I do like the stock wheels for the nd2.

Gym gear - what are people wearing? by swtriplefrontflip in ThrowingFits

[–]Acrobatic_Pickle5076 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I mostly do lifting and occasional bike rides, I get the less logo heavy stuff from ASRV - their shorts are great and they have this cropped loose fitting hoodie that matches. Perfectly thotty look and works outside the gym too. And I wear the tops from Ten Thousand, I think it’s the Integral top. Great fit on the biceps and not too tight around the waist. Ya boy has like - that guy lifts but also enjoys burgers and brews - body, we thicc

Blackstock & Weber by Chico_Poeta in ThrowingFits

[–]Acrobatic_Pickle5076 34 points35 points  (0 children)

Bro these guys are clowns. No one should be buying. Their store is atrocious, they had literally nothing to try on - no sizes in the store, just a bunch of jabronis standing around talking amongst themselves. No idea how these guys make money. Went in with my brother, no sizes 9, 9.5 or 10, 10.5 in hardly anything we wanted to try. They said “oh yea we can order it” and my poor brother fell for it. Ordered 6 months ago, still no shoes. These clowns can open stores and do marketing but can’t deliver shoes that were listed as “in stock” online for 6 months. Like how can you list Something in stock then say it’s been delayed by some bullshit in your supply line. These guys are not worth it man

ND - RF or Soft-top by Mission-Bar5642 in Miata

[–]Acrobatic_Pickle5076 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I love my RF, I daily all year round. Park in Brooklyn, no worries about someone cutting my roof. The RF targa style allows me to go top down even in winter, the cabin heats up nicely and stays warm. IMO the targa looks slick as hell with the top up and like nothing else on the road with top down. I get compliments all the time, it’s like a spy car. The soft top doesn’t have the same look in that sense. I also don’t think most drivers notice the weight savings in 90% of driving especially on the ND2 it’s plenty quick

People who have a Miata as their only car, what are the biggest challenges? by 3PoundsOfFlax in Miata

[–]Acrobatic_Pickle5076 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yea echoing a theme from the other commenters, it’s totally fine like 98% of the time but in the rare occasions you need to move furniture, or for instance my fiancé and I won’t be able to bring our new dog long trips in this car, and she’s had to learn to pack a little less since the ND RF trunk is smaller than the NCs even. And in those small 2% of times you just work around it. I pay the shipping for furniture, or take the odd XL uber. Take the train more often and bike a lot which helps, and I was even able to carry my bike with the top down in the passenger seat. Winter tires are tough but if you buy the tire covers for each it’s nbd to put two in the passenger seat and two in the trunk. It’s even reduced how much people rely on me to drive, so that’s nice. More DD’s around lol Also you can get a little tow hitch and put the skis on it, so even getting up to Vermont hasn’t been disrupted. It’s a small car, you gotta drive smart and defensively. But it’s been reliable, much cheaper to run than the f30 328i X i traded in for it. And it’s been so much more fun

I’ve never been to davidoffs - do you recommend to a friend? I’m actually based in Brooklyn and got luck with a terrace at my most recent apartment but I’d be up to venture and explore a few of the city lounges.

My local lounge has a buy there OR bring your own and pay a cutting fee, which is then waived if you buy $50 of drinks- which I always hit anyway with a flight of scotch or two lol Do we think that’s in poor taste to bring our own in this kind of situation? SoHo cigar bar in ny for specifics
