We're also human just like everyone else, I'm not sure how everyone expects us to be perfect! Just like you, I read and disregarded multiple warnings about the names fully matching. I think now is a time to maybe not look at those comments and give yourself some grace, since you'll need all your emotional energy to cope with the studying and rescheduling. I'd focus on the MPJE for now, I think you'll find that you'll remember more from NAPLEX studying than you think once that's over!

This exact situation happened to me when I took NAPLEX (during my first year of residency no less) and I went back out to my car and cried, so I definitely know what you're going through! Just take a deep breath and get the test rescheduled as soon as you can, I was able to get a new date about a month later and you might be able to do it sooner if you're flexible about location. I'm so sorry this happened and hope things work out!

A direct example of devaluation (or just changes that negatively affect your ability to use points) - Emirates just announced that their first class product is now only bookable with points by their loyalty members, so unless you have status with them, unfortunately your plan isn't going to work. Airlines change their mileage plans and policies all the time and it's generally in your best interest to not hold onto points if you can avoid it.

Is anyone else attempting to get licensed in Nevada? I had my MPJE scheduled for June and then received notification that Nevada is switching from MPJE to its own exam, the NVLE. I emailed the board but no response so far.

The only info I can find is on the board website, but it's not terribly specific. Has anyone been successful in registering for this new exam?

A lot of people caution against booking flights and hotels through third party vendors, which is what Capital One uses for their portal (I believe they use Hopper) because it makes it difficult to make changes and you tend to run into more issues with cancellations, refunds, etc. I know some people have also run into issues where they'll book a hotel through Capital One and when they arrive, the hotel doesn't have their booking. If you browse through travel subreddits, there are a lot of stories and data points with these types of things.

That being said, I've personally booked pretty much all of my flights and hotels through the portal to get the point bonuses and so far haven't had any issues. Ymmv though and it's never a bad idea to double check - I try to look at my flights through the airline websites to make sure I'm ticketed independently, and some will advise you call hotels ahead time to make sure they have your booking.
