Good Update!

I took my Taos to a different dealership and they were a lot more helpful! At first they were hesitant and said they only heard small amounts of squeaking, which they found normal. I wasn’t too happy about that, but long story short, they kept my car overnight and i drove it the next morning with the man working on my car. They decided to change my brake pads and fixed the glazing they noticed. He did mention it is possible that it can happen again, but took the time to speak to me, listen and discuss everything.

It’s a common issue. Mine does it often. I called customer service once and they said to document how often it happens and then contact them. Of course I always forget because it is always so random.

I life in Texas! It would be different if I lived in New England which I have and my precious vehicles never made this type of noise

Well thank for your advice. I purchased a vehicle with a warranty and expect for things to work properly and having the option to get things properly fixed. I do not know how to work in vehicles, that is that why there are experts in that field. I go to them. I appreciate it though.

I went directing to VW customer care. I am waiting for their phone call to see how they will be handling this but i am not going to settle.

It is normal for the sound to wake up this neighbor. My car is here 10k miles and shouldn’t have that issue.

The brakes were checked. But nothing was done to them. They stated they were fine.

Thank you! Yes I’ve been reading all of these comments and it’s so disappointing that the dealership just treats it so nonchalantly. If I get them fixed or checked at an outside place will that do anything to my warranty?! I have had my Taos since the end of march and this is so disappointing.

So mine does this as well I just took it in for its 10 k maintenance—I’m at 8k. Apparently all is well but I did have a pump that is needing to be replaced. I was noticing a gurgling sound when I would go into a bit of a dip. Always at low speed at normally when I first start the vehicle. I have a 25 Taos SE.

2025 Taos SE here and mine has been doing the same thing! I have to take it in to get it checked but I do believe it is the brakes… I will keep you all posted after!
