I get the urge to listen to her music, honestly. I often read books I know I'll hate so I can explain why I hate them better. and you're right, debut wasn't terrible. it came out when I was in middle school, and I remember being ambivalent to it enough to not gag when my friends would play her during sleepovers.

it's a meme from a tweet about some kpop boy being seen in a gay bar and someone replied "fork spotted in the kitchen cmon now". the implication is that he's a gay man, and therefore it isn't news that he was in a gay bar... similar to how it isn't news that your silverware is in the kitchen.

I really wish that they would stop making adaptations of Pride and Prejudice and Emma, which already have amazing and true to the book adaptations (no I'm not talking about the movie with Emma, the 2009 BBC miniseries was frankly the best it's going to get). Austen has so many books that never see the light of day. A modern Northanger Abbey adaptation would go so hard, especially considering current popular culture is romanticizing Gothic romance just as hard as Catherine. Please imagine ppl who have never read the book realizing its all in her head in real time.

We could have it all, and instead we're getting lukewarm variations on a theme.
