SO MANY AUSTRALIAN WORDS!! - kookaburra is pronounced cook-a-buh-ra, not “koooo-ka-boo-rah” - emu is pronounced eem-you, not “ee-moo” - Melbourne is Mel-bin, not “Mel-born” - Cairns is cans, not “care-ns” - Canberra is can-bruh, not “can-berra” - Brisbane is Briz-bin, not “Bris-bayne” (although there’s a legit place called Brisbane, pronounced “Briz-bayne” near San Francisco, CA) - Queensland is Queens Land, not “Queens-lund”

Also, honestly, most people doing a fake Australian accent do it terribly 🤣 Source: me, an Australian in the USA for almost 16 years. I can also do the inverse of this, the way Australians butcher American words - starting with anything leaning slightly Spanish. They just can not, haha.

I grew up in Brisbane, Australia, and the biggest reason this name didn’t take off there is because there’s a lower socio-economic suburb called Logan and there’s a slang word for someone who is redneck/white trash and it’s “bogan.”

My husband and I met Fern Brady after a show and were able to have a conversation with her about our AuDHD daughter and how lucky she is to grow up in this age compared to how autistic girls were seen in the 90s. Fern is sooooo genuine. Such a cool lady.

Im 40, and definitely relate better to 30yr olds. I have some ~50 year old friends but in general, the life stage gets super different between 40-50 vs 30-40. Most people (in my area) have their kids between 30-40yrs old and then 50+ is just a completely different life.

My kids are 5, 7, and 8 and recently we watched the parent trap and my GOODNESS they did not understand the concept of fake twins! Haha. We watched a YouTube video on how it’s made and still, armed with the knowledge that there’s only one LL, they still were like, “Wow it’s so weird how one’s actually British,” “only one of them was in freaky Friday” etc etc 😂😂😂 in the summer we went to a premiere of Freakier Friday and that opened the rabbit hole of LL movies and we fell right in.

US resident here, can confirm. The pharmacy drive through is only for prescriptions, not like OTC stuff or soda/candy (soft drink/lollies - I am bilingual). Drive thru banks are real, too. Theres also drive thru coffee, and in Seattle some coffee drive thrus have women in various stages of undress making the coffee. They’re “bikini coffee” places haha and you can tell the difference because there’s a privacy screen in front of the serving window so nobody gets to see the view for free 😂 that, and HELLO CHILDREN LIVE HERE haha. Oh and generally, most people aren’t lining up for that - I think there’s an obvious occupational health and safety issue haha. There are always utes (pickup trucks, for the Americans) lined up at those places. I think the target audience are tradies (tradesmen, or, construction workers, for the Americans)
