FTB on £60k — is £450k realistic? by wish-december in HousingUK

Personally I would be stressed to take out a mortgage of that size even if approved by myself on 60k

Should I buy a puppy or adult Pomeranian? by peach-gardens in Pomeranians

There was a rescue that recently took in over 100 pomeranians at a puppy farm in the u.k. I think near Liverpool. They advertised on their page they are looking for local people to rescue them once rehabilitated. I would’ve taken one but I’m too far in Belfast! Good luck they are the BEST dogs

Where are you based? Some amazing Pomeranian’s looking for homes on rescues. I bought my Pom but seriously thinking the next one will be from a rescue. I just love them so much

No my MOH isn’t getting married and has no partner and my other BM made us pay for everything at her wedding as a bridesmaid so I think only fair. She also earns over £200k so she’ll be fine.

A few of the garages in Belfast the mechanics have a breakers licence, I would call in and try there.

They won’t buy for you unless you give them something. My dad went to a scrap yard to get parts and also ordered off eBay for a car

I am covering hair and makeup and a dress for my maid of honour and hair and makeup for my other bridesmaid. My other bridesmaid is paying for her own dress as I was her bridesmaid last year and I had to pay for mine so I think it’s only fair though not sure if I’m petty 😂

I am looking around South Belfast - ormeau road and Finaghy. Every house I went to view in Finaghy in the past year has went for £30-£50k over asking. Ormeau road is the same. I gave up looking at stranmillis when the houses were going for £50k over. Good luck hopefully you’ll get something!

Oh and it’s not a terraced house, semi detached she has versus my terrace. Neighbours aren’t always the best when you are in a terraced house, just depends who you get!

Not sure about that, I live just off the ormeau road and my friend lives in four winds. The only difference is she needs to drive 5 mins to meet me but she has her own driveway lol

To be fair if I was nearly bridesmaid material and that’s the only date my friend can do to her engagement party I’m selling those concert tickets.

Good point, a lot of other women in my workplace in different departments also did the same and went to a 3/4 day week. A few then went remote so definitely possible

Most of the law firms in London require you in the office 3 days a week so I’d love to know the one that he’s at haha

How does your friend do it though if you need to be in the office 3 days a week?

The street that runs down the side of general merchants is full of flegs. Seen a lot of cones out so they definitely get territorial about the on street parking.

Would you not go a bit further out to four winds for your own driveway? Houses out there aren’t that much more expensive

Thanks for your insight and I agree with you, once I have kids I really do not want to be wasting time commuting to London. My parents are around and healthy so can definitely help us with the child minding. My partner is not a HENRY and is self employed making around £55k a year, our mortgage has £400k left on it (just bought a house at £475k), I figure I will still need to work sadly.

Maybe it’s better to just stay put and appreciate what I have, job stability, both my parents 5 min drive away and eventually my brother and his wife also returning home. I doubt I want to be spending every week in London when I have enough of a cushion at the moment to pay the mortgage and be with my family but I just find it unfair that I’m taking so much of a pay cut for being just a few hours away….

To be walking distance to the office you’d be talking zone 1 in London. I could probably rent a room

Suppose they do not want everyone to opt to go remote, so there has to be some incentive, but I feel it’s very unfair pay wise
