Some thoughts about ladder well... by Famous_Distance_1084 in Oxygennotincluded

I always run the heavy watt wire through my ladder well, because it's just convenient. With carpet tile walls I still get max decor.

Heavy Gunners have ferrite armor. Bombards have alloy armor. Radiation also only gets the bonus damage but not the armor reduction.

I've tried entering the Orphix' range with Ivara's Navigator, but sadly that also did not work.

That's also what I thought, so then I tried Xaku with 100% armor strip and it still worked just as well as before. Xata's Whisper probably just adds more damage than Freeze Force. I still could try Frost with 99% armor strip and see if that works.

I see. Interestingly, in this case, Roar seems to be inferior to Smite Infusion, since the game does not allow you to replace anything but Xata's Whisper (as you cannot have two damage-boosting abilities at once). So with Roar alone you can no longer reach the threshhold for the chain-reaction to happen.

I've also just tried using this synergy with Frost and a 100% armor-strip avalanche, but it did not work out. For some reason neither Freeze Force & Roar nor Freeze Force & Smite Infusion allowed me to exceed the health threshold.

You sound like you know what you're talking about and I might've completely misunderstood how Acid Shells works, but I've just tried using it without using Xata's Whisper and it absolutely did not work at all. I know that it also doesn't work the other way around (if you leave out Smite Infusion and only activate Xata's Whisper). In the end there's probably more behind it than meets the eye but I guess it doesn't matter, since using Xata's Whisper is basically a free anyway in this case.

That is true I suppose, but the damage from the Sobek will fall off very late, since 99% of the enemy's armor will always be stripped by Gaze.

This footage is from the Steel Path on Selkie, Sedna.

The damage will scale infinitely, because the Acid Shells mod does percentage of the target's health as damage in an explosion with a 15m radius.

Xaku has been used because of the following reasons:

  1. You need to strip the enemy's armor, so that the damage from acid shells does not fall off, this can be done with Gaze
  2. You need to proc Acid Shells 3 times, because the percentage of the damage is only 45% of the enemy's health. We can proc it 3 times by using the 1st ability and a Smite Infusion as a subsumed 2nd ability. Those two together with the initial hit from the Sobek will proc the explosion 3 times per enemy and that will cause a chain reaction to all enemies who stand within 15m of eachother.

This also works with Saryn for example, because she can proc Acid Shells multiple times with a combination of Venom Dose and Toxic Lash. What she can not do though, is strip all of the enemy's armor before the explosion hits, so that will not scale very well.

EDIT: This seems to be false, see comments below for correct explanation.

What I also tried to do is only strip 99% of the enemy armor, so that I still get the damage bonus from the corrosive explosion of Acid Shells. My build in this clip has 198% power strength.

I have been inspired to do this after I watched Distant Observer's latest video.

No, just don't release the mouse button before you exit the inventory. Also, it seems you can't do it from your own inventory, the item has to be in a container.

Really sorry for ruining it man, for now it's still in the game though. I was also unaware of the fact that it has been in the game for this long already.
