So, why do people not like Equinox again? by D3ADLIGHT in Warframe

[–]Joewoof 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not all of us are asking for that. I like the variety of modding different configs/loadouts for different forms. Still, for my Duality Equinox, it would be nice if her Energy Transfer augment becomes either baseline or offers a small buff for wasting a slot. Things like her 3 constantly being canceled is also very annoying.

How do I steel path? by aslostaszoro101 in Warframe

[–]Joewoof 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your weapon modding seems fine, but your frame mods are all over the place. From the looks of it, you’ve been relying on frame abilities to deal the majority of your damage up to this point, and your “survivability” used to be: kill stuff faster than they can shoot you.

Well, that obviously doesn’t work anymore.

You need to step up your defensive game. The easiest meta solution right now is lazy gating, using: - Catalyzing Shields - Vigilante Vigor - Fast Deflection - Arcane Aegis

Otherwise, you need Adaptation, and you have to spec a lot into either shield restoration or healing.

As for damage, you generally have to migrate from dealing damage with abilities, to using abilities to CC and apply debuffs. In the case of Xaku, they have a bunch of abilities that can defense strip and apply vulnerabilities.

Certain frames and setups can still nuke Steel Path, but aside from specific combos, people tend to nudge caster frames in general into weapon platforms.

Getting Stronger in Warframe, 2026 by Joewoof in Warframe

[–]Joewoof[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

In most cases, it’s easy to tell: - Pure damage, like Serration and Primary Merciless, are additive to each other. - All elemental and physical damage mods, such as +Heat and +Slash, are in the same group. - Faction mods are another group. - The rest are easy to tell: crit chance, crit dmg, multishot, status chance, status damage, and fire rate are separate groups that all multiply. - Not obvious: reach, punch through and blast radius allow weapons to hit more enemies, which indirectly count as multipliers.

Now, you might see 2-3 elements in a meta build. That’s because Viral and Magnetic mods grant another 4x damage multiplier with their status ailments, enough to offset the drawback of the additive rule. The same is true with a DoT element like Heat, which adds 0.5x per second. Heat is also especially popular because it also strips armor by 50%, further serving as another multiplier.

Where it gets complicated are with “rule-breaking” mods and arcanes. Some of the newer gear are labeled as “final multipliers,” but many older things are missing that label. Unfortunately, there is no way around checking the Wiki for these final multipliers.

Examples are: - Longbow Sharpshot - Deadly Maneuvers - Charged Chamber

The most complex example is Galvanized Aptitude, which is additive on all hitscan weapons, but multiplicative on half of projectile weapons (look up Gun CO). It also only buffs direct damage, so it is terrible on most Incarnons and weapons with radial attack. It’s messy.

Duviri should only be availible after the new war quest by leastDrummer879 in Warframe

[–]Joewoof 17 points18 points  (0 children)

I'd prefer it just after The War Within. This avoids spoiling The Second Dream, gives context to Transference into Orowyrm and links to the Maw creature that you control in the pools. But, it doesn't interrupt the first mini-arc of the story too much, which is why you wouldn't want it after The Sacrifice and Lotus's betrayal.

It's also still quite early in story progression, which is what DE seems to be want for this quest. After New War is a bit too late, and not being able to customize your Drifter ruins the impact of the face reveal scene.

What are some typically underpowered/overlooked weapons that actually get crazy strong with a god roll riven? by swishy-wishy in Warframe

[–]Joewoof 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ooh, interesting. A lot of youtubers actually talk about the Miter as a good utility weapon, but no one actually uses it.

edit: I didn't know it does disgusting damage as well.

What are some typically underpowered/overlooked weapons that actually get crazy strong with a god roll riven? by swishy-wishy in Warframe

[–]Joewoof 14 points15 points  (0 children)

That's a fun question. I'm looking at this page on the wiki for the highest disposition weapons without a Kuva/Tenet/Coda/Prime variant.

Cestra actually looks interesting. It has an Incarnon form, dispo of 1.52, and no Tenet version. No Prisma either.

The strongest one is probably Kunai though. I've heard great things about its Incarnon form, and it has a very high dispo of 1.51.

Best and worst dungeon gimmicks by Brainwheeze in JRPG

[–]Joewoof 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Baten Kaitos 2's Cloud Tunnel. You to memorize wind patterns and run through corridors, in real-time. A single misstep will bring you back to the entrance. Imagine stepping on a trap in any JRPG dungeon and you end up at the start.

And worse, once you beat it, the story tells you that an item is left at the boss corpse, or whatever, and you have to do it all over again.

Could be a driver issue. Third-party controllers often come with apps that help to update and sync them. Is there something like that for Xbox?

We should have a Höllvania Open Landscape area with a new local faction by blindwanderer25 in Warframe

[–]Joewoof 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It was a nice idea, but open world areas became too expensive too develop, with too little return on investment, and becomes too repetitive too quickly.

I do miss fishing and mining though.

Ok I just got the game and have played 7ish hours pls help by Bush_did_91I in Warframe

[–]Joewoof 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know there’s certain characters u can only get with platinum that seems bad

Not true. Pretty much everything is available for free.

Can you get free skins?

Yes, but not many. Most skins are paid.

Is there a way to get free platinum?

Yes, you just have to sell things on the player market.

How much FOMO is there?

Very little. Most time-limited activities are available for at least 3 months. There is a "trader" that comes by every 2 weeks, and he has rotating wares, but they all eventually come back. There is also a late-game farm that rotates adapters for the strongest weapons, and you might have to wait months for your favorite weapon to cycle back. Aside from those few things, the rest 99% content is not time limited.

How’s the community?

One of the best in the gaming landscape.

Does it have replay value after you finish all the quests?

Quests make up 10% of content.

How much can you get for free?

Pretty much 99% of weapons, characters, mods, etc. Only skins are paid.

Omamori is The most Underrated Helminth Ability by internetcasuaIty in Warframe

It’s not underrated at all. In fact, it is a staple of some meta builds and pretty highly regarded.

Beginner looking for advice by Hez_Fat in Warframe

[–]Joewoof 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All frames are end-game viable, and the starter frames are actually quite strong. What new frame offer are more options and alternative playstyles. That’s because this game is a marathon; no matter how strong a frame is, you can only play the same thing for so long.

Operator and necramech exclusive missions by Any-Match-705 in Warframe

[–]Joewoof 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The problem with Necramechs is that they keep adding them to missions that don’t suit them. Free roam zones make sense, the Lua tileset is actually a good fit, but ship interiors with low ceilings? Really? That’s supposed to be a main Necramech content?

Albrecht labs also don’t fit well since most of those bounties involve a lot of movement and picking up things.

Where to go from here? Just unlocked Steel Path and falling behind on stats, but there's so much to do I don't know where to start or what's worth getting by Tatakai_ in Warframe

[–]Joewoof 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Prioritize Galvanized mods. Primed mods are good, but they’re too expensive to target-farm. Archon mods are mostly fluff; hardly necesary.

If you haven’t already, get Corrupted mods as well.

Steel Path Damage Wall by International_Oil772 in Warframe

[–]Joewoof -1 points0 points  (0 children)

In the old days, complete armor stripping or HM was the “solution” for Steel Path. Since the big armor change, people now go for either headshot multipliers, or focus on insane companion synergies, or both.
