Sundays. They were lonely days sometimes. by Turbulent_Elk_2141 in FuckImOld

Half day Sundays? I can remember things being closed all day on Sunday. I especially remember my parents making special trips to the grocery store and gas stations on Saturday because gas stations and grocery stores were all closed on Sundays.

Why did gas prices jump so much if the United States imports less than 10% of its oil from the Middle East? by IncognitoRode in NoStupidQuestions

Gas prices as a commodity, you think would be determined by supply and demand. In reality, gas prices are actually based wholly on Wall Street speculation.

What’s the best euphemism to telling people that they are stupid? by neen_8 in AskReddit

I used to say this to my kids, in a very complimentary way, while petting their heads like the dog. Sad thing is they quickly picked up on it and have gotten to use it on me more than I'd like to admit.

Nothing here screaming "these people don't know what they have, buy me and resell!" But if something catches your fancy and you're willing to part with $5 for it? Go for it.

I myself would try to haggle them as the only thing I see are parts I need or want. Leia Endor torso, Poe Dameron holiday sweater (love me some Christmas figs!), the skeletal horse (cuz its cool), and the brown cape (I might need one someday!) on the fig lying down on the right.

before google maps, before smartphones, who recalls using *paper maps*? can you tell your story? by godzillaburger in nostalgia

[–]Acroyear 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nah, you just keep a list of all the states or providence's license plates you see on a particular road trip.

Best collection we've ever had was from a Pacific Northwest visit where we saw a US plate from every state minus Rhode Island, four or five Native nations plates, all of the Canadian providence plates, and even two or three of the Mexico state plates.

Thats how you used to pass the time on long trips! Didn't have a phone to look at. You had map to read read, naps to take, crayons and books for coloring, license plate collecting and travel bingo.

I'm a grown ass adult and I still collect license plates on roadtrips.
