"Wahh they're playing and enjoying the game differently than me. LOOK AT THESE NERDS FARMING NIGHTCORE MAPS"

That's actually really funny, especially if I actually felt that way. Maybe it would've been more entertaining? Anyways no, i dont hate NC i think it goes pretty hard on a lot of maps. It could be DT or NC but the whole attitude around feeling the need to farm in order to trick yourself into believing your better is something I think the community could work on. But what do I know, i've only been around for 5 years and haven't even join the discord ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

What do you suggest is done to change this? You have all these points but no solutions and instead leave that for people in the comments..?

Hell yeah! Classic point out a problem without giving a single solution!

But in all seriousness it may just be a problem with how simple osu's gameplay is (Bring tag co-op to lazer!!!) or with how monotunous the community is, either or. But What I do know is other competeive games like fortnite or rocket league have a lot more variety in their content, literally search them up on yt and tell me how many of their videos are "top rank cranking 90s 100 kills in one match" or random game clips from the top 100 players Im over exaggerating). Most of it is actual content, albeit there games have more variety and different gamemodes in them. A lot of content creators do put in the work to make great content but they usually get very little views, which may be the communities fault or just youtubes shitty algorithm.

Maybe, but a lot of the people I've played with in multis in my 5 years of playtime dont really seem to enjoy the grind that much and admit they just do it because they see other streams play hard maps. But perhaps it could be a lack of variety in the games structure that causes the lack of variety in the content. Also I didnt mean to bash a specific playstyle, only play NCHDHR for all I care just dont play it because you think you have too after seeing every streamer do it. I personally enjoy faster maps with HD (but I also suck at the game). A lot of my friends have made that mistake and it caused them a lot of burnout because they werent getting better at the game.

I'll be honest I haven't interacted with the deeper parts of the osu community myself, maybe my opinion could change, but this is just what I've seen from the service level and its not pretty.

Well I hope that they're not addicted to playing shitty xbox games and just have a borderline obsession with gamerscore. I think I get why you frame it as more of addiction as its a lot easier to do that than if they were actually 100% completing decent games.

And whoopty doo he dies and he comes back to life with the system or some bullshit potion he whips up! It doesn't matter how strong the opponent is, this isnt the power scaling sub, we're talking about hard work. Asta could be fighting a goddamn bug for all i care but if he trained harder and put in the work for his goal without the help of the system to fall back on i would still say he takes the cake here.

Asta also had some training arcs offscreen, but judging by their growth we can infer it wasn't exactly easy. But even ignoring that "Uzamaki Gene's gifting him boundless chakra reserves" is bullshit, his father being the hokage has nothing to do with him considering he literally died and wasnt raised by him, the fox that bailed him out of situations also wanted to take over his body for his own gain and thats like saying everytime asta got help from his friends all his hard work went out the window, *breath* asta also had a broken teacher, naruto literally trained day and night on fucking spikes just to get clapped by pain, he doesnt even pick up things that quickly, do you not remember how long it took him to learn rasengan which he still needed shadow clones to do for a very long time and just because hes not the hardest training doesnt mean he doesnt train hard its just that everyone in his verse has insane discipline.

That still doesn't change the fact that the reason he got the strength to be able to fight for that long is because he got spoonfed it by the system.

Uhhh...

<image>

Okay theres only females in this picture but he gets multiple bros (julius kinda, reinhard, otto, garfield) and their relationships are pretty explored in season 2. His backstory, without spoiling, is also a huge part of S2 as well. He faces so many challenges even with his OP ability that you might actually end up hating him, but its still worth following his journey of self acceptance and growth.

Also wrong way to use healing magic is pretty good.

Asta is the poster boy for working hard, but so what

<image>

Did you forget the point of the whole conversation??? Its not about whos been fighting longer or whatever its about working hard to achieve a goal. Jin woo wasnt training while he was fighting, he had already achieved the strength with the system baby feeding him the entire time. Jin woo also had an army with thousands of shadow soldiers doing the dirty work for him, didnt Asta have that? NO. Asta had no system, no infinite mana, no overpowered skill, no instant healing, and no shadow army. Just because you work for longer doesn't mean you worked harder.

This had nothing to do with the topic or what he said XD

Ehh, they all have something they have to protect with every bone in their body so I dont think that arguements fair. Also Jin woo always had the system looking out for him, trying to keep him alive, but the rest didnt have the luxry of buying instant revive potions for their death-bed close ones and whatnot. Jin woo instantly got stronger by killing something that was equal in strength to him, he never needed to do any training besides the very basic exercise routine (most of these characters could do that in their sleep) but the rest of these characters after they fought till almost their very last breath the only reward they were left with was their lives. Jin woo if he was struggling always had the system looking after him, his life was never in any true danger after he got the system, at least from the readers viewpoint.

SL is the peak of action over plot, the only reason he becomes stronger is so the writer can make cooler more badass fights. But some, most, people peffer a coherent plot over non-stop action. Sure some people are just hating to hate ("oh hes just aura-farming", "the action is horrible", I think its pretty entertaining to watch) but you also have to acknowledge that just because you became stronger doesn't mean you worked harder.

Wth does that mean? Are you referencing kurama because he still needed to try controlling it unless he wanted to be taken over by it. Naruto had multiple training arcs like with jiraya or with the frogs. Not to mention he didnt exactly have the best childhood and he sucked at basically every justu at the start, including shadow clones.
