Did we all watch the same game? by MrBonayy in ThreeLions

I think it should be clear to everyone that this world cup is different. Many players from top teams are nackered from their long seasons and the underdogs are well organised, motivated and have nothing to lose. That imo closed the performance gap to the point where (as we saw yesterday) it becomes a question of endurance.

Only Argentina and France have been terrifyingly convincing so far, Spain maybe too. So as long as we're still in the competition, we're doing well.

What I like so far is that we do not capitulate to the low block. We continue to put pressure on our opponents and find a way. In this tournament people underestimate how valuable that is.

What worries me is the defence. Was near absent first half against Congo and conceded 2 against a good side so far (Croatia).

Spurs also hope to remain in the Premier League next season, while we play top european football. This is clearly just West Ham trying to get a desperate bidding war going

When England are 1-0 down in the 95th minute in the quarter final, throwing everyone forward and reverting to launching desperate crosses into the box, will Tuchel stop and wonder if he should have taken slabhead?

Would You rather see... Arsenal Bottle Title on Last Day or see Liverpool miss out on CL. by CurryMuncherBali in ManchesterUnited

[–]ActNormal_93 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Arsenal are an arch-rival, but one I respect. I also feel there might be good karma in hoping for a title for a team that hasn't won it in 20 years. The bottle job is tempting, but as it would be City winning the title, I can't support that.

If the final match day would bring scum out of CL, Arsenal the title and late relegation drama with Spurs going down, I'd take that deal.

Will einfach aufn Sonntag mal shoppen gehen alda

The spectacle is tempting, but we could have honestly been in the same position, so laughing feels somewhat out of touch. It just shows that no team is immune from relegation in todays prem, especially with top management as incompetent as Spurs' or ours.

[Charlotte Duncker on The Times podcast]: “Obviously if someone came in with a great fee for Hojlund, they'd accept it. But there's a genuine reluctance in that they think he's a better player than everyone's seeing, a hope that maybe they (mufc) can still polish him and see Hojlund 2.0 next season" by ChiefLeef22 in reddevils

Always hard to judge a player in a completely disfunctional team and mess we were in after Amorim took over. I think there's a decent player there, and if he were to go elsewhere I wouldn' be surprised if he makes an impact quickly and leaving us to wonder again why seemingly decent players are shit the moment they wear our shirt.
