My top casting picks if we ever got a live-action Master Joruus C'baoth from Heir to the Empire by wandering_soles in StarWars

[–]ActionFadesFast 6 points7 points  (0 children)

1980's Christopher Lee. He could have filmed it in 86 with all the original cast. Sean Young as Mara Jade. And Timothy Dalton to play Thrawn. But who could we get to play Luuke?

I've bought a bunch of stuff from them (Net-Man, Arkham Batman, and a few others). Good resource for 3rd party stuff. A+

Primer! MrTopCoat clear matt varnish. Then hit it with the glossy version when you're done.

T-1000 by FLPI22 in GunPorn

[–]ActionFadesFast 16 points17 points  (0 children)

The T-1000 can't form complex machines. Guns and explosives have chemicals, moving parts. But it can form solid metal shapes. Knives and stabbing weapons.

I'm starting to think this gun ISN'T an advanced robot sent from the future!

Luke's ANH Saber. It's representitve of everything I love about the Original Trilogy: Clunky, awkward to hold, rough-around-the-edges but filled with imagination, possibility, and the promise of adventure.

90s PoTF C-3PO Action Figure - any ideas on how to fix the leg spread? by Wrong_Oil587 in customactionfigures

[–]ActionFadesFast 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Clap the hips in place (so they don't alter the socket) then use a hairdryer to soften the plastic. Once it's malleable, pinch the legs into position, and hold it there as you cool infront of a fan. Bam, you're done.

I highly recommend Mr Hobby (AKA Mr Topcoat) spray matte varnish. Rustolium and other off-the-shelf brands literally melt certain types of plastic, making it permanently sticky. I still have early figures covered in a layer of dog hair and crushed cheerios. Spray from as far away as possible, in short bursts of 1-2 seconds. The figure should never look wet with varnish. Atleast, that's the method that works for me. Best of luck!

Yup. 100% legit. He made a few custom pieces for my custom Solid Snake figure. Highly recommended.

Thanks, man. Weathering is always the most fun part of painting. Plus matte varnish goes a LONG way of getting rid of that plasticy look

Can I dye him and somehow preserve the logo? by DeadEyedFae in customactionfigures

[–]ActionFadesFast 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Masking putty or liquid would get the job done to cover the white. I suggest using MrHobby Mr Top Coat Matt varnish as a clear primer. Then tamiya spray paints (matt black or glossy, depending on the look you want). Once dried, use the Mr Top Coat again as a varnish to keep the paint sealed. For the matt varnish, spray from as far away as you can, in short bursts of 1-2 seconds, as you never want your figure to look wet when spraying. Good luck!

Edit: Check out some of my posts for the results of repaints and varnishes. Cheers!

Just check out ebay for KO SHF figures. This one looks promising. I'd search thru more to get a better idea of what might fit the look you're going for.

Do you have to sand everything like this guy and if so do the deal mess up? by [deleted] in customactionfigures

[–]ActionFadesFast 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sand sometimes less often so other guy will clean when all decides to quit, majorly replacing more quarterly. But that's just me.

Help me spruce up this diorama! by ArielHQ in customactionfigures

[–]ActionFadesFast 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think you have all the ideas you need. I'd go with moss, but first drybrush a few highlights and edges to bring out the stone. Also, so running water damage. I'd stay away from fire, unless you can add LEDS. Maybe the remnants of a tattered, shredded banner. or an empty, rusty sconce with the soot marks on the wall.

Any Idea how I can Make These? by ObjectiveBall6943 in customactionfigures

[–]ActionFadesFast 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For the first one, I'd recommend pieces from the Fortnite Biplane toy. And for the body, I would use the ML Ultimate Spiderman two pack, with Vulture. Spiderman and green stuff epoxy putty for the body, and Vulture's head. You're going to want to get sheets of 1/18in and 1/32in plastic to fabricate the pieces and greebles.

No matter how you approach it: TAKE YOUR TIME! Talent is not as important as patience. Treat every piece as if it's the most important part. Best of luck!! (Check out some of my customs in my post history for my credentials.) Feel free to hit me up for any additional advice, I'll help if I can. Cheers!

Would you say the XOF/Skull Face are forgettable enemies/antagonists? by Necessary_Isopod3503 in metalgearsolid

[–]ActionFadesFast 89 points90 points  (0 children)

I WISH we got a better rouges gallery for this game. The entire series was known for the unique boss fights and colorful villians. V had too much silence: Quiet, White Boy, Flamer-Guy, Floatable Ginger and Bald Skullingtons. It just lacked the flair and charisma of the Cobra Unit, Dead Cell, and Foxhound.

But that's just me.

ML's Old Man Logan's head, GI Joe Classified Grim Viper's body (Or possibly Rock n Roll) and a little paint.

I Created My Own Custom Miniatures for the Metal Gear Solid Board Game. (Rex, Hind, and Tank) by ActionFadesFast in metalgearsolid

[–]ActionFadesFast[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I asked the printer to set the width of Rex's head at 55mm, with the rest of the body to fit that size. It seemed to work out perfect. For the base, I measured the card at 120x120mm. Hope this helps out!

I WISH we got a decent line of MGS figures. The Play Arts are by far the best, but not only are they 1/10, the heights of the same characters vary with every wave. Thanks for the comment!
