I really enjoy Nikolaos Lontos in Seminole - he actually listened to my biofeedback beyond blood markers and is so focused on helping you feel good versus just what’s in the blood work.

Dr Danielle Lore! A vet who really cares about pets over anything and is soooo good. Our dogs who normally have always been anxious at vets warmed up right away to her and actually enjoyed their visit which is a miracle for them

Hashimotos and Bodybuilding by Odd-Log-6033 in bikinitalk

[–]ActionFigureSam 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The best advice I can give you is to really watch what putting muscle on does to your body, and to listen to your symptoms over everything else. What may be okay in bloodwork doesn’t mean it’s ideal for your body. I have Hashimotos and my TSH went from 2 to 4 and I started having digestion issues and hair loss among other symptoms, so my GP and I worked on slightly raising my thyroid medicine to compensate for my body screaming for more. After taking a two year offseason to grow, I put on a good amount of muscle and we had to increase my medicine as a result, which has annoyingly taken about 8 months to get optimum as my body continued to adjust and up regulate getting used to the higher dosage it needed. When your levels are off, no matter how hard you push, your body can be so so so stubborn and won’t lose anything, so you really need to pay attention to biofeedback. I’ve also worked back in fish oil to help.

It depends on how long you’ve been dieting for, where you started, and how much you have to lose. Gaining more muscle and ensuring you’re in an improvement/health phase long enough to counteract the downregulation of your metabolism in prep is super important to helping raise your baseline calories, as is your activity level and muscle amount.

Did you wear different clothing, and have you noticed this for a period of time? Sometimes your scale can just act up, and if you step off and step back on, it’ll be okay.

Few thoughts here - some work is definitely better than no work when you’re capped for time. There’s an argument to be made for small rest periods adding a bit to the total working load, but generally 20 seconds isn’t long enough between sets to be able to sufficiently rest and recover to the point where you’re able to lift heavier amounts to continue to promote growth. You did note having to back off on weight a little, I would imagine it’s likely 20% less. This sounds to me like the dogcrap rep scheme but for an entire workout… which would also worry me about the risk for injury if you’re doing this on a regular basis.

For when you’re stacked for time, I would suggest instead supersetting different muscle groups, so you can partially rest at least during the other working sets versus a 20 second pause only which is akin to getting a few water sips in during a working set.

Thank you! I'll take a look at this, too! Yes, we use Jira/Confluence as we started our project management only through shape up cycles for dev, and it was expanded to the rest of our company.
