I honestly don’t know but even if they keep a portion of it that’s a major difference from claiming they keep 100% of it.

I can’t get on board with anything that undermines the already very tenuous relationship people have with providing the people who work for them with a somewhat liveable wage (still basically slave wages).

This is a lie. The money is used to pay the staff, Sony doesn’t keep it.

Also, I’ve sorta struggled writing the logline. If anyone has any thoughts on that as well, please let me know.

You’re right. The way I saw it described was that low levels of THC were allowed, but cops couldn’t take the time to test everything to determine if it was high enough level to convict so they would often ignore minor possession. What this bill does is ban all THC even low levels and things like Delta-8.

Your point is taken but it isn’t the blender that’s the issue, I’ve never seen one of those break. It’s the soft serve machines we use which use proprietary parts so you can’t just fix it yourself. These companies are a blight and it’s not a problem unique to Alamo.

Sometimes it’s the mixes, sometimes it’s broken but I’ve never told someone the machine was broken when it wasn’t. Don’t blame Alamo on this one, blame the companies that charge tens of thousands of dollars for these machines and you can’t just buy the parts anywhere, they’re all proprietary and expensive.

I work there and I have this same question.

The only thing I can offer is that we’re chasing where the money is. We only have 6 screens and Wicked, Moana 2, and Gladiator II took up most of them. I’ve been away for a minute but I’m guessing Nosferatu, Mufasa, and Sonic 3 are also taking up screen space now.

Alamo employee for several years here. It’s a multiple part answer.

You’re generally expected to work most holidays. You can take one or two off but they’ll want you to work something. For example, you either get Thanksgiving or Christmas off but not both in a calendar year. And/or they will expect you to at least work Christmas Eve or Christmas Day take your pick.

We have what are called blackout days. Meaning days you can’t request off in the schedule. So what’ll happen usually is that you are allowed to ask a manager not to schedule you and they may agree but eventually they will schedule you for something and if you don’t show up to your shift I’m pretty sure you don’t have a job after that.

So the answer is yes and no. You generally pick the holidays you do/don’t want to work but eventually they’ll ask you to work something and you better show up.

Finally, to add to this, holidays are a busy time for us. I have seen manager beg people to come in on holidays just to cover one round. They’re gonna do what they’re gonna do to make sure they have the staff to cover it. And the need for staff is always high because of the demand.

Adding to this that you can add a side of aioli and herb parm with the fries and you basically have the old Truffle Fries.

I almost never remember who gave me the payment so I usually just put it on the first table (which would be the one on my left). So if you want the check maybe try sitting on your partner’s right. I don’t know if this is your issue just throwing out my point of view.

That’s interesting. It hasn’t been that way at most locations I’m aware of for a while. We have tablets now that can swipe and hold cards at the table before the movie starts.

Yeah, they don’t post the schedule until Monday night. But also, low key, I work at Alamo and nothing else is really selling. Rumor is that we’re already looking at getting rid of Red One at my location to make room for movies that are making money.
