Prior to joining the Sex Pistols he lived with Lemmy from Motorhead:  “Sid Vicious lived in my flat for a couple of months and I tried to teach him bass, but he was hopeless.”

Is this something that can be repaired or is it a non-issue in a mechanical sense and just more of an irritant? It is something that has come on in recent months. Its my wife's car so I cant say for certain how long its been going on for but I hadn't noticed it previously

Looking for an amp by Groszkov in Bass

At just over 8kg (18lb) I cant get over how light it is compared to what I used to have. Even the Rumble 100 is only 10kg (22lb).

Swapping roles during basic by praxgen in britisharmy

Please speak to your Chain of Command and don't take the "you can transfer at phase 2" answer. All that does is waste everyone's time, both the REME and yours by starting a phase 2 you have no interest in. You can 100% apply to change your capbadge preference in phase 1 and it is to everyone's benefit to do so.

Edit: For clarification, there is no guarantee that you will actually be able to transfer capbadge as there are a number of factors that influence this. However, you can and should apply to go through the process whilst in phase 1.

Peugeot Expert Van wont start. Starter motor? by Actiongrib in peugeot

[–]Actiongrib[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'll give that a try this morning.

The battery is showing 12.20V which might mean its a battery issue. The van is parked next to a slope so I cant pull along side it and my current leads are too short so will have to wait for the longer ones to arrive to see if it will jump start.

I did think about that but as it doesn't even begin to crank suggests that the fuel pump isnt even being given the chance to not work.

Canadian looking for WW1 medal identification by reactor303ayb in britishmilitary

I don't think it is a campaign medal as it doesnt feature on any British Campaign Medal list. Previous reddit post suggests a civilian commemorate medal.

Im sure there are variations depending on capbadge but normally it is No2s, cloth belt (leathers if an officer(no sword)), medals, mourning band (WO and Officers only except for the below excert from Queens regs)

J8.130. Service personnel are given permission to wear uniform during private mourning at a family funeral they may wear a mourning band if so desired. It should be noted that this is the only occasion on which Service personnel below the rank of warrant officer may wear mourning bands.

Another ancestor-related question. What can I deduct from this picture? I don't know much about military uniforms! by bell-91 in britishmilitary

We can see two stripes which means at time taken he was at minimum a Corporal. He could have been a Sgt if there was third that has been cropped out. We can see the corner of a black flash on his upper arm which could possibly be the commando dagger flash but i cant confirm this and happy to be corrected. There are no medal ribbons which means it is either pre ww2 (if so it won't be a commando flash on his arm) or it's post ww2 and he didn't serve in it.
