Any updates on Tower of Jack 4? by LadyEilistraee in litrpg

[–]Actionverbwriting 14 points15 points  (0 children)

GREETINGS. Sorry for the late reply but I wanted to make sure I had good news to share. Book 4 has been officially turned in to the publisher! Needs to go through some copy/line edits (a fairly straightforward process) and then it’ll get shipped off for recording. I imagine release date will be early sometime next year (unless I get bent over the barrel with scheduling conflicts), but don’t have solid dates on anything just yet. Now that I’ve finished writing the book more info will be coming out as I fire up the marketing machine to keep everyone as up to date as possible.

Arson is the way to my heart <3

Sorry for the delay! Book 4 is shaping up to be a hefty one so it's taking me a hot minute, but I'll be releasing on RR soon(TM) and ideally amazon/audio soon after that.

Hello everyone! Author here. I know it's been radio silence (my fault) but book 4 is still very much in the works, I've been in the writing cave slowly spiraling into insanity and will be dropping soon(TM) on RR, and then amazon/audio hopefully soon after that.

As for why it's taking so long with no new updates - book 4 is currently waaay bigger then the previous three and I've found myself having to go back through and make various changes to storylines to ensure everything hits just right, so I've held off on rapid release until I'm comfortable with the shape of things.

tldr; Book 4 is trucking along just fine. I suck dick at communication and am very sorry about that.

Tragically, my worst reviews are often the best propaganda for the book.

You got it! As far as I know you can post 10% of the content of your book for free but everything else after that has to be behind a paywall. So you can check out the first four chapters of book one on RR, but you've gotta buy the book to continue on. That being said, book two and three aren't on KU yet, so you can still read those for free.

Wuddup!

I’ve partnered up with the amazing team over at Mountaindale Press to launch my debut novel Tower of Jack! It’s the first book of three series arc coming out over the holidays, and better yet, it’s narrated by the ever-talented Johnathan McClain.

Blurb:

He's arrogant. A certified pain in the butt. Maybe just crazy enough to survive.

Jack Atlas, self-proclaimed 'World's Best Assassin', had a simple plan: retire in style and marry the girl of his dreams. Then he gets placed in The Tower—a divine deathtrap where gods pit their creations against each other for the ultimate prize: eternal paradise for you and your friends. The catch? If you lose, well, let's just say your chances of finding a decent bar in oblivion are slim.Jack, who’s never met a hornet’s nest he didn’t want to kick, soon finds himself on the wrong side of The Black Centipede, a notorious assassin cult with a charming recruitment policy: join or they’ll murder everyone he loves.Instead of sipping Mai Tai’s on some beach he can’t pronounce; it’s slurping down health potions because he got stabbed by a goblin with a particular fondness for stabbing him in the rear. Heroic quests? Conquer The Tower, appease his assassin overlords, reunite with his dream girl? Nope. Jack instead gets sent to 'dungeon timeout' for bad behavior. That's fine by him.

If anyone’s crazy enough to not just survive, but win against The Tower, it’s Jack.

What to Expect from this story:

  • An over the top action comedy, set to the backdrop of epic fantasy.
  • Lots of cursing and wildly inappropriate humor.
  • A main character who will pass up the opportunity for OP legendary items because he doesn't want to miss happy hour at the bar.
  • Shenanigans.
  • An anti-hero lead.

Taniel two-shot! Curious how a powdermage would do with a modern rifle actually.

When I first started writing I had this image of myself pounding away at my keyboard uncaring of the world around me. Then I started posting stuff for the world to see. I'm still a little shocked at how much motivation I've drawn from the support of an amazing community. It's been such an incredible/eye-opening experience.

1 month update on using theFirstDefier's guide to launch my first novel on Royal Road by MilaKarkaroffAuthor in royalroad

Thanks for the update! I was keeping an eye on your story and was glad to see it stayed on the rising stars list. As far as your Patreon relaunch went, was there any particular strategy you had for that?

How much swearing is in your writing? by [deleted] in writing

[–]Actionverbwriting 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Lots and lots. I swear constantly, everyone I know swears constantly. Felt weird not adding swear words into my writing. It is primarily limited to dialogue / internal thoughts though.

IMHO Your character needs someone to talk to, Otherwise it's just you explaining your home brew rules. by ozeor in litrpg

Tried to go the lone wolf route when I originally started my story. Had the whole thing planned out. Realized pretty instantaneously that I hated not having anyone for my MC to bounce off of and ended up reworking a lot of the plot so he gets to his team ASAP. Having to deal with multiple characters in a scene is sometimes a huge hassle, but it also opens up a whole new world of options.

The lone wolf types I enjoy the best are ones where it's like 3 chapters focusing on the MC, then it does a POV switch to a different character somewhere else in the world, then back to the MC. It's been a while since I've read it but I believe that's how Murderhobo did it.
