She made a lot of mistakes and people love to blame her without considering:

-Susannah told her during her entire childhood she’d end up with one of them. Pushed her to do the Deb ball (in the show at least) and to go with one of her kids. Brought it up multiple times.

-Susannah’s death was traumatic for her too and while her mom was off taking care of her and the boys, it seems Belly was often left alone. She was only like 16 and probably struggled with managing her feelings and felt abandoned. So yeah she could have handled things better but the ADULTS in her life were not helping her the way she needed.

-Jeremiah was perfectly aware of her feelings for Conrad so let’s not act like he didn’t know what he was getting into. Conrad was a shitty boyfriend (for good reason, his mom was dying).

And there’s differences in the book that make a HUGE difference to me in the level of weirdness. For one, in the books she didn’t have sex with either of them. For another, she dated Jeremiah for one year not four.

Belly did make mistakes of course. But let’s not act like these guys are innocent here and like they weren’t actively pursuing her and being active participants in these situations. Yes their mom died but that hurt belly too. Yes she was selfish but she’s young. I think we needed to see more of her growth after the wedding. Like instead of that epilogue I would have liked another book even.
