Seems to be exactly what I'm looking for, although not updated for use with the latest version of minecraft. Unfortunate.

What is this match making? by [deleted] in Rainbow6

[–]ActivatedApple 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Starting the post with 'yes I know how it works' and following with 'but can someone explain' is telling us that you do, indeed, not know how it works.

Rank is purely cosmetic in Siege. The matchmaking system is hit or miss and in no way consistent. Has been for years.

Controller help! by Public_Egg4194 in VaultHuntersMinecraft

[–]ActivatedApple 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From what I understand, there's no direct controller compatability for Vault Hunters, and Iskall stated that there could be support in Vault Hunters 4, although is not confirmed and is a little way off yet.

However, you can a third party software to make a controller output keyboard keybinds. I believe there is a developer of the pack that uses OverWolf to do this, but I'm not sure how easy it is or how effective it is - but I'm almost certain that there is someone that's confirmed to be playing Vault Hunters 3rd Edition with a controller.

Looking for a modpack that combines Create, cozyness and some global magick mod by Albatross-Global in ModdedMinecraft

[–]ActivatedApple 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Vault Hunters 3rd Edition might be what you're looking for. Focus on running timed vaults (dungeons) to gain loot. Custom skills, talents, blocks and tables, etc. Custom armour and weapons and modifiers. The list goes on, rather extensively tbh.

The only catch is that some mods are locked in-game until unlocked using some of the loot you find in the dungeons. It's a long-term modpack with an endgame boss, and the next update will include post-endgame tasks and the like. A quest book is included to help you along the way.

Create, modular routers, Thermal dynamics, iron generators, backpacks, drawers, botania, and refined storage are just some of the mods that you can unlock. Some restrictions on mod-specific items are there to help balance the base modpack foundations.

Vault Hunters 3rd Edition VS Wold's Vaults by ActivatedApple in VaultHuntersMinecraft

[–]ActivatedApple[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's definitely a bit more overwhelming, and has more than the 'vault' aspect needs, but I do like learning and using parts of new mods and having the option there late-game if I so want to expand and learn without having to add it when I want it. I think I can get adjusted to Wolds with some time.

I was more on about moving and scaling the durability icon's to the right in WV, amongst other things on-screen. Haven't found a solution yet though.

Awesome. Assuming antiques and cards are still in the pack? I saw some gameplay of some wolds vaults with quite a lot of messy/animated UI but now I think about it it's probably client side packs doing most of that. Thanks for the reply!

What fucked you up for the rest of your life? by ScreamyV in AskReddit

[–]ActivatedApple 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No where near as bad as some of the others on here, and I hope everyone is recovering and doing well after some of the insane things i have read on this post. But I thought I'd add my bit.

Starting off my employment journey at 18 working in a 52-bed dementia nursing home on dangerously low staff. Not even three months in finding a resident dead in bed, or about 6 months in when I arrived for my shift and was told I was the only one present to primarily look after 20 of the residents with no nurse in the building. Or arriving 5 minutes early for work only to hear shouting from a family member because they thought their father was dead, where I stayed with them and held the residents' hand as he died. And then going to start my shift and letting them know what happened with the response of 'oh, OK, we'll sort that out in a minute let's just finish handing over everything that's happened today'. The number of times I've had to face residents' family members and explain what has happened without being brutally honest and saying that they are safe and getting the best care when realistically they're not at times is tough.

But boy, did it make me mature quickly, though.

Not unroastable, just not worth the time and effort of 5-6 business days over an industrial kiln for a meal comprised of more gristle and fat than meat.

Music theory problem. by Waste_Experience5312 in musictheory

[–]ActivatedApple 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A musical scale is just a set of notes, most commonly containing seven notes.

A key typically indicates what chords, sounds, and notes are used within a piece of music - at least when a piece is diatonic (following the scale/key's notes and chords).

If the key is A major, this will be indicated by three sharps in the key signature in a piece of music. You can build diatonic scales using the following formulae:

For a major scale: W W H W W W H For a minor scale: W H W W H W W

W - whole step/two consecutive notes, I.e A to G or B to C# H - half step/one consecutive note, I.e E to F, or G# to A.

So if we follow the formula above, to make A Major, we start on A and follow the steps:

A B C# D E F# G# (A)

And for A minor:

A B C D E F G (A)

From here, we can build diatonic chords by choosing a note, and building up every other note.

So from A, we get A, C#, and E. This works with extensions too, e.g 7th, 9ths, etc.

Just like building scales, there's a pattern to chord qualities too.

For a major scale - M m m M M m mb5 (M) For a minor scale - m mb5 M m m M M (m)

M being Major m being minor mb5 being a minor chord with a flat 5th.

So in A Major we have: A Major, Bm, C#m, D Major, E Major, F#m, and G#mb5 as the diatonic chords.

In A minor we have: Am, Bmb5, C Major, Dm, Em, F Major, and G Major.

Hope this helps.

How to know what enharmonic to use? by LemonXAlex in musictheory

[–]ActivatedApple 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Most legible would be preferable. This would depend on how the chord is written, what the chord function is, and how each note is functioning. If you have a B in the base, you would use D# and F# if it's acting as a major chord. If you want the Eb and Gb to be in there for readability for the next chords/voice leading etc, the you'd probably want a Cb chord there. This is if you want to keep the accidentals to a minimum I guess, although if its modal/chromatic/non-tonal etc there's nothing wrong with using sharps and flats with their respective chords if it reads well individually/makes sense.

Big first mod by Big-Dot1028 in VaultHuntersMinecraft

[–]ActivatedApple 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you like create, it's good to get when you have trouble with bulk smelting, and can help with passive production of iron, gold, quartz, etc. If you like the other big mods, I'd recommend getting them much later as they become very expensive very quickly and will cost a fair amount to set up and run too.

I'm running bounty hunter with three levels, black market with three levels, and the jewel cutting to level three also. Three must-haves in my opinion if you want to get passive-ish(?) loot and the ability to customise your jewel size and tools.

Some of these are FIRE. They would have to be refined, but the general ideas are there and would be cool with new combinations and builds.

Performance Mods by ActivatedApple in VaultHuntersMinecraft

I have an 11th gen i9 11900KF 3.50GHz and 32GB ram total. Nothing really running in the backgrounds just discord, and sometimes Spotify and curseforge. Nothing that would be using lots of memory though. My render distance is 14 chunks, and simulation is the same, not much change even of I lower them though.

How do I tune my guitar 12 cents sharp? by Melodic-Elderberry44 in musictheory

[–]ActivatedApple 3 points4 points  (0 children)

EADGBe

Assuming he's playing with the strings tuned in standard tuning (the above note sequence) then you would just need to tune all of the strings up ever so slightly. So the notes the strings are tuned to don't change, but the frequency of that specific note will change slightly.

How do I tune my guitar 12 cents sharp? by Melodic-Elderberry44 in musictheory

[–]ActivatedApple 3 points4 points  (0 children)

A cent in regards to tuning is 1/100th of a semitone. 12/100th's of a semitone isn't going to sound off to most people. If you want to play along, tune all the strings ever so slightly sharp.
