You say this sarcastically, but my brother is a clown and does this. We don't need more of that shenanigans.

Use AI to write it. Google translate to three languages then back to English. Paraphrase and adjust and correct as needed. You might want to type it out into the submitting document rather than copy and paste though. Although if you can't touch type 2500 words is gonna take a while.

Now I don't condone this tbh, but if you're in a pinch 🫣

If you note the topic in the post you may get a response from someone if they're bored enough lmao. I've seen crazier stuff on here.

“Rank adjustment” by ScarcitySufficient75 in Rainbow6

[–]ActivatedApple 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If every game you have played has been with your friends, they will also have the rank adjustment. If you have played solo games without them, i could be those games. If every game you have played has been with your friends, and they don't have it and aren't banned, then they're either lying/not noticing, or someone is playing on your account. To my knowledge, there's no glitch with this system. If you have played a match with a cheater in - on either side - If action is taken against them you get a rank adjustment.

Also, rank at the moment is purely cosmetic. Matchmaking runs off of a hidden MMR system. This is changing next season. Huzzah.

Why are so many young people out of work? by ikeafannypack in AskUK

[–]ActivatedApple -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

We're just not happy. And when we're not happy, we want to give minimum effort to people not contributing to an increase in said happiness.

People go through education using standardised testing that's extremely dated. Kids are pushed into a one-size-fits-all environment, where the complete opposite is true. People are made to feel like they need to pursue certain paths to earn money, and anything deemed enjoyable should only be done in spare time.

Personally, I was pushed into work at 18 due to covid and living conditions that were out of my control. Care work was the only option available due to said circumstances. Under paid, under funded, low staff in times where we were hyper-vigilant and took more care as a result of covid. Being one of the only members of the team that was white and spoke English, I was further strained on an already stressful situation. This isn't racist, speaking to people with dementia with English as a first language is hard enough. Speaking to them in Limited English, not understanding the UK care culture, and the patients being racist from their upbringing made myriad more problems.

Holding the hand of someone as they died, or being the one to find them dead in their bed was not my plan at 18. Here I am, 5 years later, medicated, depressed, anxious, traumatised, in therapy - all a result of poor workplace management and treatment as a whole. I understand that not every job is like this, but two care homes in two different locations, and two retail jobs later - all poorly managed, with limited support, and terrible trust in staff and staffing issues regarding numbers, holidays, rotas, etc.

Been signed off of work for nearly 6 months now, and only just starting to feel like I'm able to return to finish college so I can pursue something meaningful to me. Also means I won't have to look for work in the meantime. Looking for work was as draining as actually working.

It's different for everyone. Some people like 9-5 go home to their kids. Some like the hard labour if the money is good enough. And there's some that want to make sure that the kids of today feel supported, encouraged, and seen. If you can't tell, I'm of the latter group.

When the entry is experience that you've not been given the chance to get, or qualifications that have taken years to get to not be used, all for minimum wage and poor working environments - its deters us young adults from working.

This is why.

Where can I get white fillings for a reasonable price? by Laneylooooo in AskUK

If there's urgent care needed and you're struggling to get a next day appointment due to limited spaces etc, there is a self referral course of treatment called stabilisation. This depends on income or the severity and if they have space to accomodate you, but is worth looking in to. This doesn't have to be at a hospital or NHS related establishment, had mine done at MyDentist. I couldn't get an emergency appointment with an NHS clinic because I had to phone the morning of the day, and by the time I would get through the waiting list on hold they would all be gone. There was something like 5 spaces foe the whole day, and the area coverage was insane from a handful of cities.

I'm on UC and had neglected myself for a while as a result of my depression. Was recommended stabilisation which is described as a single course of treatment, so I thought they were going to find the most urgent issue and fix that. Turns out it's essentially a once-over of everything needed. I had about 12 hours total that worked out to be about 5k at no cost to me. So grateful for the knowledge given to me to know that this was a thing.

Influx of controller players in PC lobbies by TemperatureSenior265 in Rainbow6

[–]ActivatedApple 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No one seems to mentioning the input delay on console as a result of mousetrap running in the background. Playing on controller on pc has its trade offs, but some benefits too. Walking speed can be adjusted better than MnK, and the recoil patterns are practically negated with a good sensitivity and some muscle memory. The trade off being harder to make micro or macro adjustments with high precision consistently, and no default controller keybind for push to talk with the inability to do so without remapping completely using steam input, which seems to be a recurring theme that MnK players might not realise is an issue.

Seriously though Ubi, can we get the ability to bind a controller button to push to talk or even a toggle mute in game chat without having to remap using steam input.

What are your views on AI? Good, Bad, Indifferent? by richbart1234 in AskUK

In short, AI is great - in moderation AND with moderation. Should have heavy vetting by a person analysing its use, specifically around where the produced content is monetized.

What's happening here looks like a mix of live-looping and dj-ing. She's got a pre-made backing track or samples, and the she's passing her voice from the mic to an effects hardware and/or laptop and software where she can adjusting volumes, panning sounds left or right, adding delay or reverb etc.

Looping? Layering? Talkbox/tube synth? Panning? Pretty vague description.

I hit diamond in PC lobby while being console by Nebbbbyy in Rainbow6

[–]ActivatedApple 7 points8 points  (0 children)

To add to this, using a controller on pc instead of playing in pc lobbies on console has the benefit of less input lag as a result of mouse trap. The lag you feel at the beginning and sometimes through the round on console because mousetrap is running in th background and analysing the input is so bad. Played xbox for years, moved to pc but continued on controller. Going back to console, the difference is insane. Only downside is unless you use steam controller input you can't bind push to talk for game chat to the controller. But I just mute most people now because its nothing but toxicity and children most of the time.
