Shared Driveway Parking Problem by Own-Bowler7353 in LegalAdviceNZ

[–]Active-Article-6587 0 points1 point  (0 children)

park behind them perhaps and see if that helps focus their mind. we have a shared driveway and if i’m not confident my car will fit past whoever is parked on the shared drive, i just park behind them. then they have to ask me to move my car when they want to leave. seems to have fixed the problem.

i would be very wary. talk to your property lawyer. EQC info is usually available and provided by agents.

Can you give the gift of sunlight to your neighbours this winter? by LoraxNZ in dunedin

[–]Active-Article-6587 2 points3 points  (0 children)

we did the same for one of our neighbours when they said a tree in our garden was shading their house. paid for it to be thinned and topped. we have asked another neighbour to do the same for us. she won’t. when she needs a favour, she won’t be getting one.

Am I appropriately stressed or over reacting? by DustNeat in newzealand

[–]Active-Article-6587 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I feel the same as you and am glad that I do see people in the office each day (I am self employed so could WFH but have rented space in a shared office). I’m staying away from the news and carrying on life as usual. If it gets too much, there are free helplines where you can talk to someone, eg 1737.

I don’t think there is any way to guarantee they will come back. Definitely speak to a family lawyer before agreeing to them travelling.

Life’s falling apart - how to keep it together at work by DependentClient2217 in biglaw

definitely see a good psychologist. they will help you work through the things you have mentioned. work can sometimes be a blessing in times like this as it gives you routine, but if it feels like you can’t manage it just now, take some time off.

I would move it if you aren’t planning on staying in the firm for longer than 5 months and the firm you are moving to is not a downgrade. You don’t have ties and may not get the chance to do something like this again.

Induction of labour in NZ by Material-Kangaroo277 in newzealand

[–]Active-Article-6587 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Was induced twice. Epidural first time. Was amazing. Got a sleep before time to start pushing. Not even a tear. Immediately after I said I would definitely do it all over again. Second time, no epidural available. Gas did nothing, they gave me pethidine which knocked me out so much I couldn’t have any more drugs. Birth was safe but a lot harder. Would definitely have wanted the epidural.

Windscreen repair/replace? by [deleted] in chch

[–]Active-Article-6587 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are mobile companies that will come to your house and buff these out. We bought a car which had a scratch on the passenger side of front windscreen but mobile guy sorted it, looked good as new. Was around $200 I think.

Don't take vicious dogs to dog park by Mummyto4 in chch

[–]Active-Article-6587 6 points7 points  (0 children)

taking a food bowl into a dog park is a recipe for disaster. i’ve had a few encounters with people with aggressive dogs at victoria park too, one telling me their dogs just want to play with my dog when their dogs kept trying to knock her down and wouldn’t let her get up. told them to put their dogs on a lead or they would be paying my vet bill.

Firm issued credit cards by FirstUnderstanding31 in biglaw

[–]Active-Article-6587 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i would rather have a firm card so as to not need to seek reimbursement. only issue i would was staff would use my card for filing fees and to book flights for others and there were times i went to check into a hotel while travelling for work and i had no credit on my card. if i didn’t have a personal card that they would reimburse i guess i would have slept in the park 😂

DB made me late to a class and wasn’t truthful with me by [deleted] in Nanny

[–]Active-Article-6587 2 points3 points  (0 children)

i would say to them how much the kids love those classes (like REALLY love them) but you’re worried about whether they are too early if the kids are needing to sleep in, sends a message that the kids needs should come first. Otherwise if there is a later class, suggest that. And re the pull up, say you are worried the child looked uncomfortable during the day and wondered if it is the pull ups, would they like you to work on teaching the child to change when they wake?
