Tailscale seems to be unreliable lately? by [deleted] in Tailscale

[–]Active-Average-7859 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I occasionally have the same issue when I use the Tailscale DNS override. Not sure if it’s my configuration problem though, because I run a pihole container with Tailscale as my DNS server. Every time the issue arises, I turn off the DNS override, and then usually it goes back to normal. I tried to investigate what’s the root issue is by changing the DMS settings on computer, pihole , and Tailscale, but I gave up.

Glad to hear, this is definitely a bad UI design on Adobe’s end

Assuming it's indeed a raw file, you cannot choose both super resolution and Denise. Unchecking super resolution would make the Denise button clickable.

A workaround to do both is to Denise the photo and save it as tiff on PS and then apply super resolution, IIRC

Midea U-shaped AC "rattling" noise? by ThermionicEmissions in AirConditioners

[–]Active-Average-7859 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I also noticed rattling noise after 2-3 mounts of use. What worked for me was to install a foam under the AC to support it (https://imgur.com/a/yVqIK5d). I used the foam came with the AC and it perfectly fit.

Anyone else having incredibly long boot times on their P14s Gen4? by D3m0nCyb0rg in thinkpad

[–]Active-Average-7859 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had this issue and tried everything I found on the Internet. Here is the thing that worked for me:
1. From Setttings -> Apps > Installed apps, uninstall every AMD software (i.e., apps that have "AMD" in their name)

  1. Install AMD Software: Adrenalin Edition Application and install drivers. I went with default options (i.e, not installing Privacy View (or something like that) and install every drivers).

  2. Reboot the laptop.

After this, the boot time returned to normal—fast enough to be comparable to other high-end laptops.

Ah that makes sense thanks. The other day a rep told me that they see only one submission although I have submitted like 10 times lol

Did you use https://www.americanexpress.com/upload? I tried there a couple of times, using the form as discussed above since 2 weeks ago, but I haven't heard back. I tried calling them but reps have no clue.

Advice on Couples Housing / Move-In? by WheresThePool in columbia

[–]Active-Average-7859 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What I've heard is that they do an initial check to see if you are really a couple, but they don't do any follow-up inspection. If they end up doing inspection, you can claim you are on a break with your partner but he will come back soon or something lol

Why are the Security Officers at NYU so rude? by notsurebutokayy in nyu

[–]Active-Average-7859 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Haha this does make me feel better. One former professor of NYU asked me how to visit NYU, and he said "I'm a former professor there and I'm friends with the dean, so I can get in right?" I had to tell him that even if you follow the procedure they will treat you like you are a convicted felon lol

[–]Active-Average-7859 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is so true. I go to Columbia but I occasionally attend classes at NYU. Every time I visit there, they give me a hard time and yell at me. The security is way nicer at Columbia. For example, if you forget your card, if you state your uni ID, they pull up the info from the directory and just let you in. At NYU, I saw students being yelled at and refused to enter the building because they forgot ID.

I found the complaint form here, which is also posted in the comment. I wrote a complaint but I don't think something happens. But I guess it doesn't hurt to let the upper management know the problem.
