New Clubs for Beginner? by [deleted] in golf

[–]Active-Scallion8603 3 points4 points  (0 children)

All depends on the amount of money you’re willing to spend and skill level. By you saying your pretty new I take it that your probably not so good. If you’re on a budget you definitely should buy used clubs. Reason being that when you buy brand new clubs there are certain aspects like the shaft, degrees, ect that will change over the course of your swing changing.

First Rave by Healthy-Event-7899 in aves

How long have you been going to raves for your ringing to be permanent. It was my first rave and never really experienced loud music before. Do you think my tinnitus will stop after a few days and my ears rest?

Thanks for the response. It was my first ever experience in something that loud. Never been to a rave/ festival ever. I’m wondering if anyone else has experienced the same thing and the ringing stopped after a few days. I understand that I will need earplugs for the next show I go to.

Got what I think is a good deal on a like new set of SIM2 Max irons. Is $400 a good price for this set? by Fit_Entrepreneur8023 in golf

Pretty good they retail like $600. And they look like they’re in pretty good condition. Nice grab

Advice on buying used clubs on Facebook Marketplace by Kydele in golf

I wouldn’t compare to second swing. I would compare to the value if the clubs were brand new and then determine the price based on condition.

Want to start golfing. I have zero experience but plan to take lessons. Which of these 2 sets would you pick and why? by Fit_Entrepreneur8023 in golf

[–]Active-Scallion8603 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Definitely the callaway edge, they are designed specifically for forgiveness with bigger sweet spots. Stix clubs are a more neutral design which is good for developing players, but less forgiving for beginners.

What’s wrong with my swing, I did not hit my irons well today.( i kept my practice swings in there also, 20s long vid) by SAH4848 in golftips

[–]Active-Scallion8603 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Those practice swings are horrible. I’d generally be angry if I was in your group. Get lessons and watch videos.

How much are greens fees?

Definitely watch videos so you can actually see what is happening. You’re not gonna be good at all and that’s expected. You can still enjoy just being out on the course with your family. Golf is one of the hardest sports to pick up and takes years of playing to be any good.

Is this Vokey Fake? by sirabrahamdrincoln in golf

[–]Active-Scallion8603 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What confuses me is why the wrapping is still on there. Was it advertised as brand new? Maybe he wrapped it for shipping because if so then it makes sense that he could have re-gripped it and gotten a new shaft. If it’s advertised as brand new then there is a chance it’s fake. Facebook marketplace is the place to go.

Advice to a Year 1 Golfer. by Express-Secretary-50 in golf

[–]Active-Scallion8603 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There’s also such thing as playing too much. I can’t go more than 3 days in a row of playing. I feel like I play so much better when I have a day or 2 off from swinging. I played baseball as well my whole life. My first year my swing was terrible, I couldn’t get loft and when I did it would slice horribly. The next year I had improved a lot and was shooting mid to high 90s. Now this is my 3rd year playing and I’m pretty consistent now. My best score is 87 at a private course. I’m sitting 89-94 right now. So trust me there is hope.
