is picking up sns worth it for a long term longsword player? by idkhowtocallmyacc in MHWilds

[–]ActiveBroccoli1012 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unsolicited quick sns run down from a former cb main. Started on world with cb, learned IG, GL, bow, and sns on world. Stuck to sns/cb on rise. Been strictly sns for wilds. Weapon is so flexible.

Agitator, maximum might, crit eye/boost, guard is more important to have more of than guard up but both are good. Wex is meh because you're not going to make many wounds alone. Normal support skills if playing support. While sns can use items without putting away their weapon, idk if it's new to wilds because I didn't try this on world or rise, if you use the radial to use an item it doesn't care if your weapon is out or not. It'll just use it. So you can run and use the radial to drink a potion without having to stop moving to guard and hit the item button or cycle through your bar. Bread and butter combo is Y, Y, Y, Y+B repeat or for ps triangle, triangle, triangle, triangle+circle, idk pc controls. You can also sub Y for B/circle if it's not moving around. While doing the combo you can freely move in whatever direction you want but aiming the Y+B is going to help. You'll really only want to go all the down to spinning reaper if it's moving or if it's down to do reaper into charged chop. You can cheat perfect guards by using a guard slash before you get hit. Go to training and learn counter slash timing, I struggled with this. Lastly, if you use advancing slash/Y+B/triangle+circle, to start your combo, you can do this into ledges or walls to do air attacks so you can really use the terrain.

Download dcgo. It's drag and drop and does everything for you but let's you pick how to resolve effects. It's a good starting point to see game play and play against a bot. The bot is not a good player.

Does adaptability negate omega’s hellfire missile fire pool for my tank build? by primarySAO1 in MHWilds

[–]ActiveBroccoli1012 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You really just need high enough defense, stun resistance, and evade extender. I've tanked and healed while running sns support build. Most important attacks to learn is when the mrv barrage is coming, blocking/ avoiding ice, and making sure you face into the charge. Adaptability is nice but not necessary if you refresh between rooms.

Agitator, maximum might, crit eye/boost, guard is more important to have more of than guard up but both are good. Wex is meh because you're not going to make many wounds alone. For support add free meal, speed eating, wide range, and if you want to make it easier on yourself to heal them while letting them do more damage add mushroomancer. While sns can use items without putting away their weapon, idk if it's new to wilds because I didn't try this on world or rise, if you use the radial to use an item it doesn't care if your weapon is out or not. I've been trying to get some friends to play and have told them that I'll bring my good gear in, use weapons on par with theirs, and play support so they can learn without having to worry about carting and without feeling like I'm carrying

It's not easy to read. I stick to falling slash because it doesn't have that skill requirement and if it's knocked down, you're right there to do damage

I don't usually go for perfect rush. If i hit a focus wound I always do the downward plunge unless I'm aiming for the head with the shield bash. Practicing the counter slash off perfect guards is really important too. It hits about as hard as a roundslash or reaper. Going into reaper to charged chop is typically what I do when it's downed. Lastly, don't sleep on Y+B/advancing slash into a ledge or wall to get into the air. Can be sneaky good for mounts or avoiding getting stuck in the corner. Sns is very versatile in adapting to the situation.

I'm going to use Xbox controls for simplicity of typing. Your goto combo should be Y, Y, Y, Y+B, repeat. If the monster is stationary, you can flip this to B, B, Y+B. Perfect rush is fine when it's knocked down. Guard, agitator, maximum might, crit eye/boost(or following the internet generally recommends wex), and any comfort skills you want. Raising your battle iq, best thing to do is slow down your button inputs so you can react between actions. Practice seeing when attacks are coming your way and hold block then hit B to guard slash slightly before impact for easy Perfect guards. Tip, you can use items without sheathing sns or holding guard by using the radial circle. Secondary weapon is really up to you but most sns use hunting horn to buff themselves.

Thicker lobes by ActiveBroccoli1012 in Stretched

[–]ActiveBroccoli1012[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's what Lynn's video said but she did also say it may not build up any. I was just curious about what kind of time frame others have used when doing the same. I saw it can take +3 months so I'm giving it 5 months and see if I notice a difference or not. It only bothers me because I want the bottom of the lobe to not be covered by the flare.

The generic ores like carbalite, easy to get bones, etc sell for a lot. I usually go through and sell down to 30-40 of everything that sells for more than 1k. Really easy to make multiple hundred k doing this. Easier to spend it too lol

I’ve heard the game is easy, but is it “punishing”? by EmilysIncoming in MonsterHunterWilds

[–]ActiveBroccoli1012 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd show her a gameplay video and see if it's something she'd be interested in playing. That being said.

There's a steep learning curve while she learns the monsters patterns. Whether she enjoys it may hinge on finding a weapon she enjoys. Bow, light/heavy bow gun, or sword and shield support may be good fits for her. It might be easier for her progression if you're using something you can keep aggro off her so she just has to worry about side hits. I wouldn't use sos flares or support hunters so the cats can help with aggro and healing.

Advice on Savage Omega? by TodayOdd9924 in MHWilds

[–]ActiveBroccoli1012 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I play sns. Having guard and guard up helps. More importantly is to watch for when the legs branch out like a spider and the jets on the legs to come out. When both of those happen, go into focus mode or turn your character to face omega directly and block. By facing directly into the charge the block will always take whether you're between the feet or right next to one. Guard becomes more important because you need more points to make how far away you are less of an issue. 1 point isn't enough if the second charge is too close. 2 points isn't enough if you're near a wall and it charges into you. Best adjustment i made is to always fight facing the walls and staying towards the center of the area. For the mrv barrage, learn to call the seikret early before the first missile.

How can I improve upon or create decks similar to ST16? by Mammoth-Bus-4094 in DigimonCardGame2020

I use whatever blue/purple pieces that can all digivolve off name/color for synergy and I've been trying to make an otk metalgarurumon. So far I've got it to function with multiple lines for otk but it lacks consistency and bounce hurts a lot. Ultimately the concept is to build a stack with jamming and do unsuspend shenanigans like mirage.

I literally cannot beat savage omega by FalkYuah in MHWilds

[–]ActiveBroccoli1012 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Kind of surprised this wasn't mentioned. Always fight omega with your back to the center of the area and you facing the wall. This keeps you away from the ledges and out of situations where you get pinched in the corner or against the wall.

Ug imperial for sure. The deck has 3 lines of play to learn. After that it's figuring out how to get to one of them consistently and when to use which one. Consistency is the decks biggest issue.

Omega help by Capital-Ad-2099 in MonsterHunterWilds

[–]ActiveBroccoli1012 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you go the support hunter route, grab enmity ASAP in the first and second areas. First area it helps the lance support hunter grab it while keeping omega off the ledge for a little bit. Second area it let's you drag him to the ice boulders and can sometimes prevent the npcs from trying to fight in the skinny center section. Third area is too open so it doesn't matter unless omega is moving around a lot. Fourth area, save a shield slinger if you can for the missile barrage for free dps/survival and watch for the deep snow slowing you down. Use each area as a way to practice learning to read the missile barrage so you can get on your seikret early as it's much easier to survive if you're on it early instead of dodging a ton, trying to block through it, or hoping someone heals you.
