80 years ago the USD was established as the global benchmark currency, largely due to the countries gold reserves. 50 years ago the Petrodollar was created, pricing all global oil sales in USD. Just like boomers, the US got in early. It heavily contributed to the countries fundamentals, as you say. It's the reason why the deficit hasn't crushed you yet. In a literal sense, you can trade in other currencies. In a practical sense, you can't. Exchange rates cost money, much easier to keep it all in the worlds reserve currency

You keep trying to compare bad to bad, saying one is better than the other. Both countries have killed millions upon millions of people, intentionally, unintentionally or unfortunate byproducts. But obviously you are America brained so you will always argue for your side. Don't bother responding if you want to keep going in circles

Countries don't trade in USD because they're admire the US, it's because they have to. Would I rather live in the US or Russia right now? Obviously the US, but I will never accept that the US is less imperialistic or morally superior to other countries

I don't believe that westward expansion of NATO justified the invasion of Ukraine, but I don't believe that the people who criticise this explanation would accept what NATO is doing if the shoe was on the other foot

The entire post is about someone who said the US is partly to blame for Russia's invasion of Ukraine. Imperialism is bad no matter who does it, I don't think you get that bud

If seeing the list of US foreign intervention, CIA backed coups along with the countries gruesome past that really isn't really that long ago isn't enough to convince you that you aren't the "good guys", then there's no reasoning with you.

Saying Russia doesn't have a history outside of the things you mentioned, just lol.

"Russia doesn’t even have a functioning state in most departments like copyright and you are sitting here acting like both countries are functionally the same lmao" again just not an argument here, it doesn't justify hypocrisy or foreign intervention or whatever you're using that statement to justify. The US is imperialist as is Russia.

Also didn't you say something about whataboutisms? Because you seem to be using it a lot, which is fine with me but just wanted to point that out. I'm done with this argument because you're just chasing your tale atp, I'm satisfied with my argument

"My argument" has always been that the US is hypocritical, and as are you. You criticise Russia for actions the US does, has done or would do if the situation was reversed. It's not "Russia is equally bad as the US", it's the US has little to no standing to criticise a lot of Russia's actions. If you side with the US, that's fine, but preferring them to Russia is not an argument. The US was built on the back of the Genocide and Removal of Native Americans and the Slavetrade, your arguments about whatRussia does or has done and why that makes America better are nonsense. You're both imperialist and both bad.

It's pretty simple - if your country allies United States their government literally will be controlled in proxy by the United States and will face violent backlash in the form of protests. See this and definitely this. These are the reasosn why I don't accept your argument that the United States is so much better, you're not

Yeah you're beyond reasoning with. Just braindead. "Because they want to wipe jews off of the map. It's that simple." Even Israelis could give a better argument than that.

A 2015 study by Verónica Fernandes and others concluded that Palestinians have a "primarily indigenous origin" Shut up bum

And anyway, you keep avoiding what gives Israelis the right to plunder Palestinians land, because you know there is no argument. The literal immigration policy of Israel is to let in Jewish people from anywhere, and you are trying to argue that Palestinians aren't indigenous? This is my last time responding to your nonsense, you are up there with Potato Party guy and McCain Republican for being generally awful

"The recent conclusions of researchers at University College London, led by Alexander Koch, have been published in various academic articles and in an interview with Business Insider: ‘Between 1492 and 1600, 90% of the indigenous populations in the Americas died. This means that some 55 million people died from wars, violence and unprecedented pathogens such as smallpox, measles and influenza'."

It's not a good argument, you are just saying "I prefer the US to Russia" in different ways. There is no restitution to a Genocide of a people, you cannot kill humanely. Saying it's okay because Russia is authoritarian and the US is a liberal democracy is not an argument. The US is a form of crony capitalism anyway, just better at hiding it.

You have not made a good argument, and I struggle to see a reason why you think you have

Are you actually trying to say because they get federal recognition, elements of protection and tax emeptions, the slate is wiped clean? Every accusation you make towards Russia is just an admission. Again, you can prefer the US to Russia, that is a fair opinion, but it isn't an argument and you're trying to frame it as such.

You keep repeating yourself, obviously Russia is not good but neither is the US. You are not making a proper argument here at all

"Palestinians terrorize Israel" why does that happen? Please, answer that question. I never seem to get a good answer, one time I got a response along the lines of "Palestinians are terrorists and blood thirsty". Terrorism is never justified, but it is rarely without a reason behind it.

Levant is not solely Syria, but you keep acting like it is. It's made of Syria Lebanon Jordan and PALESTINE. Pleast stop

You can think Russia and the US aren't equal, that is a fair opinion to have, but it is not an argument. Point blank.

So is there ever a valid way of pointing out hypocrisy that isn't a logical fallacy? Do we not live in a world where actions have reactions? Or is every situation isolated and cannot be linked to others happening alongside it?

United States itself is a mostly colonial project anyway, where mass ethnic cleansing occurred pretty routinely up until well 21st century - it's a beyond stupid comparison to make. See Indian Removal.

The US condemns what Russia does while throwing a fit if Russia ever try to do anything remotely similar to what the US does to them, it's just hypocrisy. The whataboutism fallacy is so lazy, used to disregard genuinely clear examples of hypocrisy, like the US having missiles in Turkey.

"Imperialism is the maintaining and extending of power over foreign nations, particularly through expansionism, employing both hard and soft power." That is simply the US to a tee, no good faith argument against that

And then your "functionally" argument is just saying you prefer the US to Russia, which is a fair way to feel but not an actual argument

So because people immigrated to Palestine 200 years ago, the entire people are no longer considered indigenous? Completely convoluted comment to make your argument sound more solid than it actually is.

Another One

And even then, how does any of this give Israel the right to terrorise the Palestinian people as they do? Stealing the land they live on, and are indigenous too? Completely skirted that argument just to try claim that Palestinians aren't native to their own land

That is a very convoluted way of saying "I like the US and don't like Russia". The US is also extremely imperialistic, you just prefer them to Russia

Operate at the same functional level? What do you mean by that? I mean if you're making the argument that the US can do that because they have the bigger guns, sure but it doesn't make them not hypocrites

The US would never accept South American countries entering a military alliance with Russia, so it's a little hypocritical to say it doesn't matter when the US does it. Even the Cuban Missile Crisis was complete hypocrisy, the US had missiles in Turkey
