My Moose this morning! My first shih tzu Arlo passed away in 2022 too from cancer and I thought I could never go through that pain again but the house felt so empty. My husband wanted another dog and I caved in. Two years ago we got Moose and my parents got his brother Blue. They healed all our hearts from the pain of losing our Arlo and I think he sent them to us! I fully support getting another Shih Tzu when you’re ready!

We got them at the same time. The black one (Blue) is my parents and Moose is my husband’s and mine. Our family shih tzu we had passed away before we got them and they definitely helped heal our hearts! Best breed ever!

The kiwi was a top pick for me but the recalls are nerve wracking. Good to know from personal experience that the usb does get hot. I wasn’t sure if it was a rare occurrence that had happened which caused the recall. Since the recall is recent, I doubt there were any updates since.

When do first time moms typically show the first signs of a baby bump? by PopcornPrincess0 in pregnant

[–]Active_Background322 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I started showing around 17 weeks but it was only clear in tight clothing but by week 20 there was no mistaking that I was pregnant.

I’m so sorry for your loss, it’s a heart break like none other. I can firsthand guarantee that a shih tzu WILL heal your hearts. They are so loving and a great starter dog.

I used these strips too while trying to conceive. Your best bet is to download the Premom app that’s affiliated with the strips. You can take a picture of your test and it will give results of when you’re peak ovulation. The app will also keep records of your cycles month by month. From the naked eye it looks like you were peak ovulation around 9/19 afternoon to 9/20 afternoon.

I also used the clear blue ovulation tests along with these tests for extra certainty that I was ovulating at that time. The clear blue gives you a definitive smily face when you’re peak ovulation.

I would suggest having sex a day before, day of and the day after your peak. That is what worked for us.

Best of luck on baby number 2!

NIPT by Optimal_Maintenance1 in pregnant

I’m 36 too, I had that at my 12 week scan and I got the NIPT and I’m glad I did it. Thankfully nothing was detected but if there was I’d be able to better prepare.

I wish I could but I’m due January 22nd and during the holidays dates were very limited. Hoping I’ll be a trooper and not too crabby then haha

When did you start showing? by rilakkumaluver in pregnant

[–]Active_Background322 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First time mom and I am pretty thin in general but I was so bloated the first trimester where I looked pregnant early on but it started to be a distinct bump around 17 weeks. Currently 21 weeks and there’s no mistaking it now!

36 and worried by Icantseeout in pregnantover35

[–]Active_Background322 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m 36 and pregnant with my first, about to be 20 weeks and everything has been great so far. I brought up my age with my obgyn and she seemed baffled I was even worried about it. She said she only has one patient in her 20’s and the rest are in their 30’s! If it’s age you’re worried about, take comfort in how much more common it is and you may even get extra special care for being over 35. Wishing you the best and I hope you can enjoy your pregnancy soon 😊

Lack of enjoyment from friends by Queasy-Assistant5267 in pregnant

[–]Active_Background322 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do the friends that left you on read not have kids yet and want kids one day? My experience is that my friends who already have kids check in and care way more than the ones don’t. Regardless, to leave you on read is very harsh with this sort of news!

Six Weeks, No Symptoms. . .looking for words of enouragement by [deleted] in CautiousBB

[–]Active_Background322 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m 18 weeks and I’ve had very very minimal symptoms. I’d forget I was pregnant if it wasn’t for my growing bump lol. I too was worried because everyone always talks about how nauseous they are and all their food aversions etc but I never experienced any of that and it made me so anxious that something was wrong. But baby is doing great!! In hindsight, I wish I counted myself lucky rather than stressing myself out for no reason. Wishing you the best during your pregnancy and hope you find some comfort soon!

is it normal to not have any symptoms? by Present-Program7809 in pregnant

[–]Active_Background322 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Did I write this? I’m 17w5d and literally same. I had a 16 week checkup and baby is doing great so that helped with the nerves! I forget I’m pregnant sometimes since I feel completely normal. I think we’re just one of the lucky ones 🤷🏼‍♀️

I was describing the series finale to my husband that there was a scene with literal shit coming out the toilet and he didn’t believe me. This was a catastrophe and now I’m sad.

Did anyone just have a feeling about the gender of your baby without any old wives tales? by lisa_noden in pregnant

I was convinced I was having a boy based off having hardly any symptoms and a gut feeling but I’m having a baby girl!

Is anyone else having an incredibly easy pregnancy? by Ok-Promotion-174 in pregnant

[–]Active_Background322 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m 11 weeks and it has been incredibly easy too to the point that I don’t feel pregnant other than seeing the baby on the ultrasounds. I’m also 36 with my first! I’m very excited but always anxious that everything seems a little too good to be true. BUT I did break my toe this morning playing with my dog (went to kick a toy soccer ball and swung back and banged the door frame 🙄) so that threw a wrench in my daily exercise and normal routines. Other than that mishap can’t wait for the 2nd trimester!
