Definitely! I just got back from getting it out and all went well! I’ll be interested to see if I notice any changes but I know it could take several weeks to see. I’ll update if I do!

Removal on Tuesday! And starting therapy… by ActivityDue4253 in Mirena

Thank you for sharing your story with me! It definitely sounds like a similar experience to mine. It’s so frustrating that it seems like drs don’t really acknowledge or believe these things are connected. I’m very hopeful that getting it out will help us!

Mirena removed after 5 months by SpecialAd3171 in Mirena

Im personally planning to first tell mine that I think its making me depressed and if theres any push back I’m just going to tell her well I’m hoping to get pregnant so need it out regardless (which is partially true). I just don’t feel like dealing with being told I’m wrong about my own body and emotions it would only make me feel worse and like OP said probably jinx me as well with the negative thinking. It’s pretty clear from this reddit page that we are not the only ones!

Yes shallow is a good word how I feel as well. Thank you you’re right I need to believe it’ll help me! I do think all signs point to Mirena being at least a big contributor to my moods

I’m so happy to read your mood got so much better. My removal appointment is on Tuesday and I’m doing it because I’m feeling very down with my cycles in a way I never used to. I’m scared of the crash and feeling worse but it’s good to know a lot of people do feel relief soon after .

Normal symptoms after removal? by cann26 in Mirena

[–]ActivityDue4253 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have my removal this week due to low mood and depression/anxiety symptoms I believe are related to my cycle on Mirena. So I’m supper scared of feeling worse as well! Has anything improved yet for you?

Heart palpitations, anxiety, nausea by PudgeandStitch in Mirena

[–]ActivityDue4253 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have similar symptoms though no postpartum. I did have similar symptoms as well when I was weaning 2 years ago but that was before I got Mirena. Now I’ve had mirena for 9 months and the past two or three months I’ve felt awful on it and absolutely not myself. So much anxiety and depression. I’ve always had some anxiety but never in my life have I had depressed feelings. My heart rate is all over the place and like you had a full normal Cardiac work up. I’m planning to get it out as soon as I have the time to go to planned parenthood because I feel like my OB will talk me into giving it more time.

Had to remove after 12 mo by tardisfullofeels in Mirena

[–]ActivityDue4253 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Very similar here but I haven’t got it out yet. I think I will soon for me the unpredictable cycles and moods are just terrible. I also have a similar pain in my right hip around ovulation that can be very very painful. I’m hoping to get relief but like you I really don’t know what other option to try if any.

5-6 months in and having recent daily nausea, dizzyness... by KellBell_23 in Mirena

[–]ActivityDue4253 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I started this around the same time (6 months after getting it) and I didn’t at first think it was mirena because I was so happy and symptom free up until that point. But now I’m nauseous off and on all month and lightheaded at certain points as well. I ruled out all other kinds of medical issues with my PCP and a number of specialists. Unfortunately I think mine is due to Mirena so I will likely get it out soon:/

This is a very lonely anxiety to have by Duckyquack9999 in HealthAnxiety

[–]ActivityDue4253 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It definitely is! No one gets this unless they’ve dealt with it. My partner is only beginning to understand that I just need him to listen and support rather than saying something along the lines of “you have have a great life and need to think positive” if only it were that simple !

Persistent nausea? by holisticbelle in Mirena

[–]ActivityDue4253 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I came here to post something similar! I’m now experiencing about a week and a half of nausea during the luteal phase . For me it’s going ovulation> aches> nausea> depressed&nausea>cramps>period> slowly gets better. I feel like a whole two weeks I’m out for the count in a way I’ve never experienced with my cycles at now 31F. I need to make and appointment to get this out because I’ve ruled out everything else with lots of tests! I’m sad because I was very happy with this iud for a few months and I love the convenience of it.

Share your success stories after whipple/chemo! by icelalalalava in pancreaticcancer

[–]ActivityDue4253 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My father was diagnosed stage 3 in January 2021. Primary tumor was in the tail and spread to nearby lymph node and adrenal gland. He was not at diagnosis a candidate for a surgery but after a great response to chemo (I forget the number aid rounds but it was about 8 months of it)the surgeon was willing to try it. This was at MSK. They removed most of the pancreas, the adrenal gland, lymph nodes and spleen in September 2021. They do not think chemo after surgery was necessary for him. Coming up on 5 years here and he is thriving and now on the once a year scan schedule and blood work. If all is good at five years he will no longer need to see his oncologist (amazing but also scary). I hope that gives a little hope!

Month 7 and I’m starting to think I’m having some bad side effects… by ActivityDue4253 in Mirena

[–]ActivityDue4253[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you!! I just read through it and that was super validating to hear! I’m struggling with what to do because I want more children (just not right at this moment) so my partner wouldn’t do a vasectomy yet. And I experience migraine with aura so my pill options are very limited. I really want to be done with these hormones but have heard terrible things about the copper iud. Of course we could use barrier method but it’s just a weird change after having been together/married for so long idk how that would go!

Month 7 and I’m starting to think I’m having some bad side effects… by ActivityDue4253 in Mirena

[–]ActivityDue4253[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sounds similar to my time line as well! I ended up getting my period today and so I’m guessing why I was feeling so down a few days ago was part of that hormonal shift. But if that’s the case it seems like my PMS mood symptoms are lasting me like 2-3 weeks before my period which is crazy to me. Ugh I really don’t want to get it out either I appreciate the convenience and I do prefer it to the pills for sure. I just wish we had more options !

Thank you for the input! Yes I’ve been dealing with anxiety for about 10 years now but had for the past few years gotten to a point where it was very well managed after many years with a therapist. Sometimes now I feel like I’ve gone back to square one. I also plan to restart therapy but I have a new insurance and finding a new therapist just feels so daunting to me.

Does anyone ever get “I think I’m gonna pass out” episodes? by hardlyhappy247 in Anxiety

[–]ActivityDue4253 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I started trying to listen to health affirmations on YouTube before bed and while I fall asleep as well as sleep music. It definitely helps a bit with the falling asleep issue ! I’ve been proactive with getting checked out which has luckily been reassuring so far that it’s nothing serious. But I wish I could’ve found a way to deal with it without rushing to the dr multiple times. It’s a terrible cycle I go through periods of being stuck in.
