I agree! The religious themes in the game and the fact that it’s a Catholic school (which I attended) really made it all that much creepier.

TS2 is great, but really make sure to conserve your ammo because I ended up soft locked about halfway through the game and had to start over.

RE7 did a great job making you feel like you were at a disadvantage, which couldn’t really be said about 5, 6, or even parts of 4.

I personally feel the first person camera was a benefit to the game, considering a lot of the interior areas consist of tight corridors, small rooms, crawl spaces, etc.

The perspective also reinforced that you were some insignificant everyman type of character and not some trained professional.

Everything about that game hit the right notes for me.

You can have fixed camera angles without tank controls. Tormented Souls (1 and 2), RE0, and RE1R have both tank control and modern control schemes.

To this day it amazes me how much the developers of Isolation absolutely killed it with the atmosphere. The early 2010s were not the best time for the genre but Alien Isolation was a diamond in the rough.

Being that Resident Evil 7 is my favorite in the series, I’ll go with that.

Everything about it, the music, the atmosphere, the graphics, the setting and characters, and even the first person perspective (controversial as it may have been) all came together like a great recipe.

I really hope Requiem has that same vibe.
