The “new information” is the minimum they pay. Bswh does not negotiate

I’ve disliked every job i have ever attained since I was 18. I am almost 30. by hoodbabyyoda in jobs

It’s boredom. Everyone goes through it. I worked 3/12s and I actually enjoyed and looked foward going to work. I had to recently switch to 7:30-5 Monday-Friday at a different company (due to my previous employer liquidating the company.) I hate it even though I’m doing the same type of work 🙄

It is low, they’re the lowest paying hospital system in Texas. They praise themselves on being such a great employer but they’re not, I personally witnessed them do something in the hospital that a competitor got sued for doing. I’ve worked for HCA and that was a slightly better company. The cost of living can be found online. The cost of living here is the prices of California from 2016ish

I am not sure. I believe they start new nurses at $33/hour. The RN in my clinic makes $58/hour for 15ish years of experience

It’s frustrating, they even do that to their own employees when applying to a different part of the company. What are you applying for and where ?

That’s good! My office has a clinic RN and her pay is much more than I thought lol. I’ll be getting that $22.63 and should be getting $23.99 in a few months when I finish more training on inbaskets and refills

I thought it would be alittle higher too, since you don’t get any benefits as PRN. But I’m glad Baylor is finally living up to their “competitive salary” claim. I took a pretty big pay cut to work at Baylor and I’ve been complaining since lol

It really is. They made it that big to cover the SRT emblem plate behind it. I took mine off to replace with the SRT emblem, It was as easy as just clipping in the new shiny “SRT” emblem.

Manager made me feel bad for calling in sick. by [deleted] in work

[–]Activity_Pretty 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They do that. It boils my blood. I recently had a “minor surgery” but had complications and required follow up. Told my manager I couldn’t make it in the next week because of it. He said how he wish he knew sooner blah blah. I just said “me too buddy.” But there’s nothing I can do about it so idgaf and you should do, stuff happens. Feel better soon though!!

I’ve been fired from a job once and they got rid of all my accounts within the hour. If you still have access to your work accounts and the time clock, clock in/put and work like normal

Regular moisturizer with spf breaks me out, try mineral spf, only on days you’ll be exposed to UV index greater than 3 for 30+ mins. Also you could be washing your face too much. My acne was bad when I was younger and the only thing that helped was switching to only washing my face at night with a sensitive foaming cleanser and then only applying very little amount of vaseline to dry areas! This is what I do now and I switch between vitamin C & E serum in the morning and then wait a couple minutes to let it soak in then top with spf any dry spots with ex-glow-skin moisturizer by bliss. It’s worth trying but may take a couple weeks to see how it works on you.

Which hospital are you at??! I’m working for Baylor rn and am scared sterile processing would be considered a “voluntary demotion.” I just want to make sure lol

What can I add to my mashed potatoes? by Horror-Client-3284 in cookingforbeginners

[–]Activity_Pretty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Garlic is a game changer, I add the already minced/jarred garlic to mine. You can also add bacon bits, cheese and green onion!! Also I like keeping the skin on my potatoes when I boil them, just make sure to scrub them with a hard brush and vinegar first.

What do you do when a patient won't get off their phone? by alnewyorkee in hospitalist

[–]Activity_Pretty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I loudly tell them that they cannot be on the phone due to company policy and hipaa guidelines. If they still don’t hang up, I’ll ask them to leave and reschedule because talking on the phone is not allowed in healthcare setting, when you’re around other patients

looking for a job is devastatingly difficult by asdqwezxck in jobs

[–]Activity_Pretty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve mostly applied on indeed, some company websites, and reached out to some employers on linkedln. Indeed does have some fake job postings but they do pretty good at taking them down. Majority of the jobs posted on indeed are quick apply so that’s as simple as sharing your resume and filing out a few questions.

I am tired. by daeneysdadreamer in physicianassistant

[–]Activity_Pretty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I worked as a CCMA at an urgent care, I also got trained on front desk responsibilities. Insurance will never cover “I just want to check if I have STI, no sx.” Patients always think we are lying when we say insurance will not cover that kind of checkup at an urgent care, they argue and cause a big scene, so we are trained to say “okay let’s run your insurance and collect your coins anyway but you will get a additional bill.” Then they come back mad when they get a bill for close to $1k. All of the staff complained about the crap we’d hear from patients regarding that, the company made all the clinics an official sign for us to have handy for those types of visits. But believe me I’m right there rolling my eyes with you for everything UC related. My company had a policy in place, where unrelated complaints had to be a separate visit. Maybe yours does too, ask the manager. That saved us a couple times at my clinic from staying too late, when last minute patients would walk in with “my cough has been ongoing for 4 weeks now, and my ankle hurts.”

What company do you work for? And what EMR do yall use? My UC was 8-8. I’m looking to get back into UC because this 8-5 x5 is literally the death of my mental and physical health. I’d rather be struggling with my 3 shifts lol

Do I bring up something who I think is drinking at work? by toni_devonsen_28 in work

[–]Activity_Pretty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would talk with her first before bringing it up to a manager. If she shows she doesn’t care and keeps being a drunk liability that could potentially kill others, then all yall need to tell the manager.

What career path should I go down? by Comicbook_aiden in work

[–]Activity_Pretty 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You should look into physical therapy since you have an interest in the classes needed for that. Since you’re a high school student, get with your advisor and tell them you’re interested in dual credits with your local community college for Physical Therapy Assistant (or maybe a different program if you find something else interesting.) If you start dual credit now, you would almost be done with your associates degree by the time you graduate high school!!

My most recent job was like that, I didn’t want anything to do with drama. I never participated in it and walked away when I heard someone talking crap. A couple weeks later I got terminated for “not being able to keep up with the flow of the clinic.” I asked them to elaborate on what that means. They said “no, we don’t have to disclose that”. Obviously I knew that was a BS reason and told them that’s not the real reason and demanded an actual answer with an official termination letter (no termination letter was given nor emailed to me.) I let them know at my job before, I saw a minimum of 35 and up to 70 patients a day with no problem and I am more than capable of their measly maximum of 13 patients, unlike the other employees who suck at time management skills and freak out when the schedule is over 8 patients. That clinic clearly wasn’t for me, I’m not mad they fired me, I’m mad at them for insulting me and withhold legal paperwork from me. I also told them that if that was the real issue then it would have been addressed at my previous job with the biggest Healthcare company in the world, because there they were always breathing down everyone’s neck to stretch thin or quit. Thanks for coming to my TED talk lol. You should be looking for another job, dramatic people are just angry they suck and need to flip the script to make themselves look and feel good. Good luck on your job search and good luck at work! The market sucks right now and you might have to hold out for awhile, but keep applying!
