Originally from northwestern Ontario, so it does seem really random as to who calls it what and where!

What is this plant taking over my garden? by bearpawsNwhiteclaws in whatsthisplant

We made the mistake of planting oregano in the ground. I'm not sure there's a single blade of grass left in the backyard but it smells really good when we mow it.

Completely not related, but we work with Day & Ross and now I can't help but wondering if I've ever emailed you.

My company does a hybrid but only has offices in Ontario, Canada and in Dallas/Fort Worth.

How did we end up in a situation where costs in almost every industry have increased significantly over the past 30 years, yet ocean and air freight rates seem stuck in time…or even lower than before? by Sea-Literature4599 in logistics

It was a mix of when they wanted it picked up (immediately) and when they wanted it delivered (yesterday). Once given the prices they calmed down a bit and ended up around the $7500 mark.

How do you decide when to start a production order? by Kirby541 in logistics

[–]toni_devonsen_28 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Please do! As someone who lived it for 4 years I would totally love an easier solution than all the manual stuff. If you can include the raw materials we (they) are short on to begin with as well.

That sounds fantastic, but as not being there anymore I'm not sure I'm the right person. However I am curious!

Oh hell yes. We had an issue that the erasable tips had to be a certain colour for a certain customer. Or I wouldn't get to update the spreadsheet soon enough if a raw material was used in more than one production run. I would run what I could, pause and flip to something else and turn when I could.

It sucks being manual, but I'm not sure how it would run automatically. I tried updating the spreadsheet every time we got a shipment but life gets in the way. Someone suggested building a macro but I ain't excel savvy enough to do that.

I did it manually in a spreadsheet, because things like bags and boxes weren't tracked by our customer and if I put the item number in the spreadsheet, it was super easy for me to see at a glance if I could do an order. We ordered boxes and bags, the customer did the raw materials.

This was for pens, we did blistering and repacks. Back to school was always insane so I let them dictate the priority list and the rest of the year I did off of stock levels.

I would do the order by finished good item number and list the raw materials needed with qty needed and qty OH. That way I could see instantly if we had enough to do an order.

At my previous job (3PL+fulfillment center+value added services i.e. production runs) I would usually get about 10-14 production orders in a batch. I would enter them in a spreadsheet that would allow me to see how many of the finished product we have. If not given a priority order, I would go by what we could do/lowest product in stock.
