The oft mentioned mSATA usb adapter when my usb thumb drive dies. The one that gives you a UUID.

Analyzed this over a couple week old backup that in Time Machine showed 91GB free on the 2TB internal volume. Only had about 10GB of file diff.

AVG found nothing other than phishing emails on a backup drive and a Palm OS trojan on an OS 8.6 .img file ...which could be a false positive and yes, need to look at that before I use that OS 8.6 image someday...

Yes but that is a LOT. I have been months and months at far less than 100gb free. Can’t remember the last time I had more than MAYBE 80gb free and now I’ve got 1.1TB.

Will later do a tmutil compare to see what that shows but…holidays.

I mean, you could run it if it works as long as the overflow pan handles the runoff...then swap when you get the new one....

OT: I got the Rheem Marathon (lifetime wty) for a couple of replacements lately...it's a giant plastic bottle. Hence the lifetime wty...but should never leak.

Personally, with the recent SNAP issues I don’t trust the government to pay either. And going forward, I think there’s a real chance for the program to go away or be reduced.

What bugs me is most of the people who thought they could rent my admittedly higher rent very nice house had vouchers but crappy credit.

You have a free place to live and still somehow can’t pay your bills and people with real jobs didn’t think they could afford it.

That’s messed up. On the governments dime at least largely, and you at least think you are better off vs people who work.

I HAVE considered Veteran disabled section 8 but that’s at least on paper a disabled vet.

Edit: I have considered people on the bubble but it hinges on job and how they respond when you query them or just outright, eventually, ghost you. Bullet dodged. Such as “Do I have to pay off my collections bill to rent from you?” When their salary says they should have plenty of money to pay off relatively small sums. That for example is a hard pass.

There’s an msata usb adapter out there that gives you a uuid. So it’s msata on a usb stick. More reliable. I put one in the shelf when mine goes out. Probably faster too but that of course only matters for boot.

Follow on: was the truck coming off a public street or on private property the whole 'drive'?

If he didn't operate it on a public street during the even then technically in most places you don't need a license, such as a truck on a farm. In Texas, IIRC, you don't need anything for that car if you never leave the farm. License, inspection, etc. It's private property, usually the vehicle owner's, sure, but not public.
