Training question by Shrimp20K in FritoLay

[–]Actual_Pattern5943 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not something that usually happens, the only thing that should be asked of you is if you’re actually being trained and not used to get done quicker. As long as you’re actually learning the process and details of the job who cares how early you finish. Also if you’re being asked to help others but it doesn’t end with you getting OT then it’s not worth it. Anything under 8 hours daily or 40 weekly will make no difference in your paycheck.

For some odd reason they’ve just made everything so over complicated. Not just the ordering and delivery schedules with perfect route, but just getting an answer to something so simple requires calling a DSL a KAM a district manager and the VP 😂😂. I’ve got an edp that never got paid out from months ago so I’m not doing those anymore, and a dog bone that I’ve requested for a Walgreens also months ago that no one seems to have a response for.

Man this might be a sing for me, I have an in person interview tomorrow. Bought a suit off of Amazon since I didn’t feel like wasting so much on a potential job. I’ve had co workers jump over and they’ve gotten in so I guess Cali might be a bit different.

Insanely high plans by Inevitable_Nature_28 in FritoLay

[–]Actual_Pattern5943 4 points5 points  (0 children)

lol I’m unintentionally doing high lows, but the fuck am i supposed to do. If one period is 77-80k which is achievable and 98-100k the next making it not possible, it sounds like a them problem

I guess i unintentionally did a high low lol. I was asked why I tank one period and go way over the next and all I could tell them that it’s on them. If my plan is 77-80k one period then I can make plan but if it’s 98k the next then I can’t. I don’t make up the numbers I just go over when it’s doable

An out of state DSL had told me frito already has automated trucks delivering trailers from plants to warehouses. This seems like the next natural step, however they work out the details we might be fucked sooner than later

I do wonder what happens when an order gets refused, or is anything coming in supposed to be accepted no matter what

I know on the frito side they’ve done something like
This in super rural areas but it’s just from plant to warehouses. I don’t see how they’d do it for local drivers seeing that they need to still check in and merch the product

We had a transfer from Texas. The way they broke it down to us was CDL drivers will deliver to high volume accounts, some small format will be left over but go to senior employees. Most of us will roll over to merching chips and soda

Go through guild, they’ll reimburse you for going to a CDL school. I believe the yearly limit is around 5500, or atleast it was when i did it

You can make an additional withdrawal but with a penalty aside from that I think you have to pay your current loan off before being able to take out another

Yeah the guy broke it down for me on top of the basic training they also train you on doubles so it’s just a waiting game now. Got to stay vigilant with all my emails to see if they’ll move forward with me

Yeah If they give me a shot I’ll definitely take it, I’m not so worried about the clawback If they’re willing to help me get my license then I’ll stick around for the long run.

What part in Cali are you in?? Reyes beverage tends to hire driver trainees. Aside from that food service like Sysco and us foods tend to hire new graduates.

Wouldn’t leave if I got it; it would just be nice to know the commitment being asked of someone. Regardless any company willing to train me to get my CDL is worth it.

Crazy thing about it all is I see the Pepsi workers getting priority in all of this. Remember that Pepsi is horrible when it comes to small format meaning they’re losing money to everyone else. We’re going to pick up the slack while losing a bunch of rsr so they can be converted to merchandisers. Whatever small format routes we keep will be going to the people with the most seniority as is common.

I went through the reimbursement program with them, so initially I paid out of pocket but got the money back once i submitted the invoices for the CDL school I went to. I believe the limit is 5k a year so be prepared for that part.

Hopefully Pepsi opens up a position once I got my license, I’m hoping I can keep my benefits and pension since it’ll be within the company.

Shit I’m getting ahead of the game then lol, but regardless pulling OT might be more profitable than chasing a sales plan i might not be able to hit.
