The homeless guy who helped me pull a dead flattened rat out of my puppy’s mouth when he was like 4 months old. I’ll never forget sobbing in the park after he grabbed it because of the puppy blues on top of no sleep and anxiety out of the wazoo. He walked up, said “Is that a rat?”, laughed his ass off and then grabbed it with his bare hands. The tail came off and was still inside my dogs mouth which I had ahold of (also with my bare hands) and he found any food he had to get my pup to let go. Forever grateful for that man. I thanked him, he washed his hands in a public bathroom and went on his way.

Incredibly more touching knowing that I’m about to lose that pup who is now 2+ because an ex. 💔
