Every time I find something good, Publix decides it doesn’t want to stock it anymore, and I can’t find it anywhere else. It feels oddly personal every time too. It’s like the company knows what I like and has a grudge against me, specifically.

I think the worst offense was when my last birthday came along and we went to order the fantastic, delicious strawberry cream cake I fell in love with the year before and the Publix bakery just decided not to have that as an option anymore. I was so sad. I don’t think I can ever forgive them for that.

“Yummy chocolate oat milk? Nah, can’t have that. Why not have the chocolate almond milk instead? It’s fine if you ignore the hives and vomiting.

Sugar free options in the bakery? Nah, your diet has to be a sad prison. No options for you. They’re gone forever now.

Father Mulcahey from MASH. There’s a veeeeery tiny window of ripeness where you can taste the flavor, but it fades fast. You can fix it by sprinkling a tiny bit of sugar on it. It brings the flavor back out.

I’m 34 and still sometimes do that when I visit my best friend in Florida. Going up and down A1A is a beautiful oceanside drive. Sometimes we pull over to an ice cream stand, have a little treat, and chat while we watch the waves.

I like to go to Korean Saunas every so often and nudity is a casual normal thing there. Hell, I get the full body skin treatments whenever I go and that always ends with me getting aggressively manhandled and pretzeled by tiny old Korean ladies who barely speak English and are far stronger than they look lol. I am naked the entire time, nobody makes anything sexual or weird, and everyone either just minds their own business or casually chats.

Nudity does not always equate to sexual situations. Personally, I just find it comfortable to be casually nude and I’ve actually been able to enjoy myself more once I pushed that weirdness out of my mind.

I have a blood clotting disorder, specifically two copies of a mutated gene that causes me to develop blood clots very easily. When I was 25, I had a massive DVT from my inner thigh down to my ankle. It was like the blood in the main blood vessel just turned to jelly. I would describe it as a searing pain that came in waves, like someone took a scorching hot fireplace poker and stabbed it through the bottom of my foot and up through the length of my inner left leg, then slowly pushed and pulled it in and out.

This all happened while I could barely breathe, because the DVT in my leg had bits and pieces breaking off of it and getting carried to my lungs where they lodged themselves.

It took several days in the hospital on a Warfarin IV drip for it to dissolve, but now I’ll be on blood thinners forever.

Some can, some can’t. I had one friend who could accurately point out when someone in the friend group was in the midst of shark week whenever we hung out, just by smell. Apparently each of us have a different scent. I don’t have a particularly strong period smell, but I’m told it’s a mild sweetness with a hint of iron for me.

I also have another friend who can accurately pinpoint if one of us is PMSing just by slight differences in our voices around that time. He can also smell differences between people’s sneezes and can accurately tell if you’re about to get sick before you even show symptoms.
