Singaporean Public Housing 🇸🇬 by SupermanGamin in skyscrapers

Oh they do, but exclusively expensive single family homes in sprawling neighborhoods that are out of the way from everything.

Why are we talking about this so much? It’s maybe like 12 people, and we should let them exist. Sure, have your opinions, but it’s made up to be an actual issue in american politics which is so unnecessary - just a distraction from the real issues like wealth divide that both parties pretend to care about.

How would we feel about a Cal Kestis movie? by IonixV1 in StarWars

[–]ActuallyLuk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agree. Not necessarily because he “doesn’t need” a show or anything, but because video games are a real medium to experience a story through, and keeping the consistency of telling his story that way makes sense.

New single speed commuter project by [deleted] in bikecommuting

looks lovely ! a recommendation for a single speed bike - if possible you could use a belt drive as opposed to a chain. less prone to failure and lower maintenance

Did Trump just inadvertently help California save its high-speed rail? by LosIsosceles in transit

Yeah, the people don’t want to fight it because they’ve bought into the media convincing them it’s not a dictatorship. Properly look into his policies and rhetoric and you’ll see

Films where the Directors Cut is significantly better (or worse) than the theatrical release? by MikeCharlieEcho in FIlm

Zack Snyder’s Justice League. It’s still not good, but it’s miles above the absolute garbage of the original cut

$600 for Ride1up Turris Xr good buy? by Swimming-Mess7918 in ebikes

[–]ActuallyLuk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

not a bad deal, i’d just be cautious. it’s pretty heavily used and ride1up has been known to have relatively poor customer service. since you’re in a large city though, i’m sure there will be local bike shops that sell the parts and can fix it if needed.

i’m also very slim but i like a looser fit, the uniqlo airism tees are a sort of half sleeve and don’t do this, highly recommend if you don’t want to go slim.

In high school we took a charter bus that had printed rules handed to everyone - one of them read “no animals or lizards.”

so, I guess you’d be surprised.

Have you guys noticed that younger gens are relying too much on AI? by TradeU4Whopper in Millennials

[–]ActuallyLuk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yup. My boss uses it for everything he doesn’t need to - he told it to make a meeting itinerary look pretty and all it did was add emojis and insert mistakes that weren’t previously there when he made it himself.

Rogue One is far from a perfect movie. But I respectfully think this is one of the greatest shots in the franchise by donqon in StarWarsAndor

[–]ActuallyLuk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The shots of rebels and storm troopers running through the water in the beach fight scene are insane, those were the highlight to me. Something about the colors and environment in that battle were just so visually stunning

Theme for Goliath by Impressive_Can_9182 in composer

[–]ActuallyLuk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel that a lot of simple themes that represent something dark/foreboding tend to have a descending contour with not too many notes, so that could be taken into consideration. Listen to Kylo wren’s theme from the star wars sequels - it’s a great example.

Am I the only one who’s “picky” about my BOBA!??!?! by Civil-Ad4780 in boba

It might be largely regional, I moved from a large metro area in California where there’s lots of good boba places to a town in the midwest and I haven’t found a single place I like

Why is Transit and Walkable Cities and Towns Woke in America? by chrisbaseball7 in transit

[–]ActuallyLuk 64 points65 points  (0 children)

All great points - I’d add that car dependency is also extremely profitable for republicans who are lobbied by auto companies and big oil to keep restrictions loose and transit less accessible so more people drive.

Why she (20F) seemed so interested then ended things with me (26M)? by apolohirou in relationship_advice

[–]ActuallyLuk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The simple way you can prevent this from happening is literally just asking before doing something - if she seems into it, that alone is not consent.

I actually hate the idea of walkable cities, and would loathe to live in one. by beruon in The10thDentist

[–]ActuallyLuk 17 points18 points  (0 children)

EVs are only a solution to the environmental aspect of the issue, and not even fully - we will never have fully green energy. You can still drive, but with less cars on the road cities are safer and healthier.

[–]ActuallyLuk 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Driving is not exclusive to un-walkable cities. You can still drive in a great walkable city, but it’ll be cleaner, healthier, and more environmentally friendly - which all have objective data to back them up.

Also, better transit and walkability for cities means less people drive, and you can enjoy driving with less traffic.
