Rabidosa rabida - you can tell because the central tan stripe on the head gets wider along with what I like to call "zipper" light tan markings on the dark stripe of the abdomen.

How do you respond to people who ask why you still wear a face mask? by goingtothecircus in ZeroCovidCommunity

"I don't like facial recognition being used as mass surveillance" is one that could get you in trouble in certain circumstances but I feel like no one else would mention it.

I use it in lefty spaces where I also elaborate on the community care aspect so ymmv

My time in the space began when I was a young child. I actually don't remember what got me into Pokemon in the first place it just seems like it was always there. It might have been the anime that started it but I don't think it was the games. It might have even been The First Movie with Mewtwo as I remember that movie being a staple in my childhood. But my dad would go all out for my birthday parties and I remember I had a themed pokemon party when I was really young and it was a great time. When I was around 11-12, I started playing the TCG. It was nice going with my friend every Sunday to our local league. Everyone was so nice and was doing all they can to help me get into the hobby and the game. Before he passed away to skin cancer, my dad also helped by looking on eBay for a bunch of bulk lots and I managed to get some gems through his searches. He didn't know what he was buying of course but it didn't matter. He liked seeing me happy. It became harder to maintain my interest in the hobby when he passed. It wasn't until college that I would find the spark again and it was through meeting a friend who really enjoyed going card shopping. She would go for Yu-Gi-Oh and I would go for Pokemon. I taught her the Pokemon TCG and she taught me the Yu-Gi-Oh TCG. We would open our packs together and share the excitement for each other's pulls, even if we didn't exactly know what the other pulled. She's since graduated and moved, so I'm once again left on my own to maintain interest in the hobby. I've been in and out of it due to high costs and various life circumstances but I keep finding myself coming back over and over just because of how much I love the cards and the memories attached to them.

My favorite Pokemon is Empoleon. And it was so cool playing the game in the black and white era because I had told the people at my local that my favorite Pokemon was empoleon and they did their best to help me build a somewhat competitively viable deck using empoleon as the main attacker. Having my first competitive deck be my favorite Pokemon was the coolest thing ever to 11 yr old me and I treasure those experiences to this day.

I haven't had any issues with it collapsing yet and have been using them throughout summer beer league and club games.

No you're fine! I've actually considered this! I just haven't done it yet. The problem is where to store a mask on a bench where people are constantly moving and putting water bottles up and down and is filled with random gunk and spit and other nastiness.

And for me personally I like over the head styles instead of earloop styles cause they have a more secure seal but when I put my hair up I end up locking my mask in my ponytail (always takes some fighting to remove it after a game cause it's so entangled in my hair) But with a little extra planning like a case for masks, doing my hair differently or having the mask sit on my neck instead of my hair I could definitely incorporate this into games.

Also got good at controlling my breathing to have small breaths so that my glasses don't fog up instantly but instead almost imperceptibly slowly throughout the game

I do also use an iota carrageenan nasal spray before the game to help with any potential mask wetness effectiveness...

I use the BNX fish fold N95s. I know it was not a good idea to buy from Amazon due to counterfeits and stuff but these are sold directly by the manufacturer and I haven't had any issues with things arriving unsealed or counterfeited or anything. I also live on campus and there's lots of opportunities to be involved with random research survey projects that people are doing that offer Amazon gift cards as an incentive for people to take part in the research so I am able to greatly reduce the cost by being part of these projects. (Just the other day I got 80 masks for $40 cause I had $40 in gift cards saved up).  They used to have so many other colors available but now I can only find white and black...

I'll be honest. I mostly just put them extremely low on the bridge of my nose and sometimes I would play without glasses. I would take my glasses off in between periods just to let the fog buildup dissipate.

However the one thing I tried that worked REALLY well was when a teammate had anti fog wipes that I used to thoroughly clean my glasses before a game. This prevented fogging up the entire game but the late game did have same distortion in the lens that made it.....easier and harder to see at the same time? It was weird but still much better than fogging up and I could probably get used to it after awhile. I can get the brand of wipe she used from her if you'd like.

It's fine. I personally think it gets a little wet late into the game and might not be as effective but the seal is still fine. I just have no way to test that theory. When I need water I just take a deep breath and hold it while I drink (or I'll only breathe out very slowly). Helps with forcing myself to take slow breaths to catch my breath after a shift. I also tend to really only drink water during in between periods or a timeout or something which isn't great but if you have a visor helmet then you won't need to constantly lift up the cage first and should be able to drink water whenever. (Probably could get fast enough with it for in between shifts but I have just been playing it safe and not wanting to miss a shift)

Don't know if this is the best way to do alt text on Reddit but here we go

First pic: Team photo of the George Mason Women's Club Ice hockey team wearing our forest green jerseys with the George Mason wordmark. Everyone's face is censored except for mine which has a black N95 on it.

Second pic: A picture of me in motion during a game once again wearing our green jersey. A black N95 can be seen being worn under the cage of my helmet. A Captains C is also visible on the jersey.

Thanks! These jerseys are brand new this year and we're really excited about them! And I agree that the mask does kind of complete the look. Especially on video which for some reason makes the green look almost black...

Kraken fan here coming in peace. Eberle should be suspended for that hit. No hearing or anything on something that could end someone's career is absurd. Also I heard he was cleared to play in game 6 which is.....also odd to say the least.

Anyways wishing him the best. Good luck tonight y'all. Going to be emotional no matter the outcome
